      BIG AL MCMORDIE

5* MLB* BIG AL's INTERLEAGUE GAME OF THE YEAR!* Florida Marlins ML
At 10:10 pm, our selection is on the Florida Marlins over the Seattle Mariners. The Marlins just can't catch a break this year it seems. They've lost 21 of their last 24 games heading into Sunday and have a "new" 80-year-old manager at the helm (Jack McKeon). And now, due to a U2 Concert of all things, they will be playing this home series about 2500 miles from south Florida in Seattle. It's happened before but is still pretty rare for a team to host another on the road but that is the case this weekend at Safeco, and it will give the fans in Seattle a rare chance to see their pitchers hit as the NL rules are used. And in fact Mariner righthander Doug Fister may need to help himself at the plate this evening if his recent results on the mound are any indication. Fister has really been a tough luck starter this season with a very solid 3.38 ERA and 1.21 WHIP through his first 15 starts but only a 3-8 record to show for it. There's been no such bad luck for the Marlins' righthander Anibal Sanchez who has inherited the role of team ace in light of Josh Johnson's extended trip to the DL. Sanchez's numbers are superb any way you slice them -- a 6-1 record with a 2.90 ERA and 1.13 WHIP -- and they're made even more impressive when you consider the team on which he plays. Despite all their issues, the Marlins still have more inter-league victories than any other NL team since play began in 1997. And the Mariners are an awful 50-96 as underdogs, and have won just 13 of Fister's 43 starts. Take Florida. As always, good luck...Al McMordie. And don't miss my other big winner today out of an 84% winning situation. Of course, the best way to get all of our sharp information is to join for a week or a month.

EYE-POPPING 84% BASEBALL WINNER ON TV!
At 2:05 pm, on TBS Television, our selection is on the New York Yankees over the Colorado Rockies. The Yankees are witnessing the blossoming of Ivan Nova as a starter right before their eyes this season. Sure, their two veteran off-season signees, Freddy Garcia and Bartolo Colon have contributed admirably so far in the first half, but Nova has gotten better each month, and he's putting up numbers in June that just about any #1 or #2 starter would be happy with: a 3-1 record, 3.04 ERA and 1.16 WHIP in four starts. He has a chance to cap off the best month of his career with an inter-league victory at home this afternoon and at 24 years of age, with two seasons and just 21 starts to his credit, Nova will be the veteran starter in this match-up as the Rockies send first-year rookie righthander Juan Nicasio to the mound for just his sixth start and his first at Yankee Stadium. It's a tall task for this youngster, not that Nicasio has been bad -- he hasn't -- but he needs to find consistency and a better way to mix his pitches and you needn't look any further than Ivan Nova and the difference he's made lately to find an example of how important that is. With New York's win on Saturday, the home team has now taken eight of the last nine meetings. And the Yanks are a super 21-4 in Day games this season. Take the Yankees. As always, good luck...Al McMordie.
