      Washington Nationals at Houston Astros
      Prediction: Washington Nationals

We used the Nats as a premium release last night as they rallied late for a 5-2 win at Minute Maid Park. The Astros are atrocious. Monday's loss dropped them to 15-36 in home games this season and an unfathomable 17-50 vs. right-handed starters. Washington is using another righty tonight in Jordan Zimmerman, who has not allowed a run in two of his previous three starts and has a 2.18 ERA in 10 road starts. Houston's JA Happ has an 0-3 TSR L3 starts w/ a 7.79 ERA. Overall, the team has lost 15 of his 18 starts this season, including 11 of 12 at night. Who would have ever thought playing Washington would be this easy? Take Washington.

              THE GOLD SHEET

              Washington at Houston
              Pick: Washington -1.5

The argument to go against Houston these days is an easy one to construct. After all, the Astros have lost 36 of their 51 home games to date and are off another loss last night at Minute Maid Park against the visiting Nats. Tonight, Washington starter Jordan Zimmerman, with a 1.32 ERA over his last eight starts, should be able to extend the margin over the Astros and starter J.A. Happ, loser of his last seven decisions and hit extremely hard while allowing 5 runs in each of his last 4 outings. Play Washington Nationals on Run Line

                  2 Units LA Dodgers +125

For those not aware this series is the biggest rivalry out on the west coast which makes the following statistic rather staggering. Following last night’s triumph San Francisco notched a 5th consecutive victory against a hated opponent. The last time we saw the Giants defeat the Dodgers in 6 consecutive series clashes was FORTY-TWO YEARS ago when the franchises were still based in New York, so what we have here is a law-of-averages special. What excites me regarding tonight’s underdog actually has to do with recent comments made from Dodgers manager Don Mattingly. According to the skipper tonight’s rookie starter Ruby De La Rosa is at the same level that staff ace Clayton Kershaw was at a few years prior and he has developed into one of the best starters in the National League. As for De La Rosa he has 3 different major league “out” pitches (curveball, slider, changeup) which has impressed management. Mattingly and his staff have also been wowed by De La Rosa’s intangibles which include both confidence and composure on the mound. Due to rotation injuries De La Rosa has gone from the bullpen to a starting role and has racked up 44 STRIKEOUT victims in 45.2 innings of work. Even though the Dodgers lost last night infielder Juan Uribe went a positive 2-for-4 at the plate. I bring up the struggling Uribe (.210 batting average) because he had a career year in 2010 while donning the uniform of the Giants. With Bill Miller as the homeplate umpire ROAD teams (12-8) have been above the .500 mark. Repeating from earlier it has been 42 years since the Giants defeated the hated Dodgers in 6 consecutive contests
