        Sports Wagers

N.Y. Mets +130 over CINCINNATI Pinnacle
Mike Leake is coming off a gem in Pittsburgh but throwing against the Pirates at PNC is a whole lot different than pitching at Great American Ballpark. Leake’s ERA at home is near 5 and prior to his last start he allowed nine runs in 11 innings over two starts. Leake has some decent numbers and decent stuff but he also was whacked hard in late July and August last year and was ultimately shut down before the season ended. Furthermore, the Reds win last night was the first time since June 14th and 15th that they won back-to-back games. That’s almost hard to believe but it’s true and they surely are beatable, especially when facing a right-handed knuckleballer that they’ve never seen. The Mets lost two of three in Florida over the weekend but the good news is that they scored five runs or more in all three games and have scored five or more in six of their past nine. David Wright is back in the line-up and he looks like he hasn’t missed a beat, as he went 6-14 in the series and had two RBI’s in each game. R.A. Dickey has lasted seven innings or more in seven of his last 10 starts. He always gives the Mets a chance to win because he throws strikes and has an elite groundball tilt of 52%. Of course the visitor can win here. Play: N.Y Mets +130 (Risking 2 units).

        Pittsburgh +179 over ATLANTA Pinnacle
James MacDonald’s skills have improved every month and right now he’s pitching almost as good as anyone. Here’s a guy that has started 19 games this year and has just four losses. He only has six wins but he’s in just about every game and with a take-back like this, that’s all we ask. Over the past month covering four starts and 24 innings, MacDonald is 1-0 with a 1.85 ERA. He’s struck out 23 batters over that span. Last year he was also outstanding in the final two months of the year and while the Pirates are in tough against Tim Hudson, they absolutely have a chance to win a low scoring game here. It’s not like Hudson owns the Pirates either. He’s only 5-4 in his career and that’s when they were losing 100 games a year. Hudson is good, there’s no denying that but after another workhorse year so far and his advancing age, there’s very likely some not so good starts left in that arm. His K’s are down and his strand rate over the past month is 85% and he really battled in his last start in Colorado. The Braves have dropped four of six and they’re simply too big a risk as a big favorite because they struggle to score runs. Overlay. Play: Pittsburgh +179 (Risking 2 units).

        Minnesota +161 over TEXAS Pinnacle
The Rangers always seem to being out the best in the Twins and in fact Minny has won three of four games this season, seven of the past eight and 10 of the past 14 dating back to last season. Derek Holland is a work in progress and he’s not to be trusted laying this big a price, especially at home and especially this late in the year. Holland has been absolutely whacked in August and September in his two previous years in the majors and that trend is showing up again. He was ripped apart in his last start against the Angels and he has a horrible history against these Twins with one win in five starts to go along with an ERA of 5.63. Holland is already up to 124 IP after pitching just 57 innings a season ago and just 138 innings in ’09. Durability and confidence is a concern. The Rangers were shutout last night by Brett Cecil and they had just three runs going to the ninth the previous night. Is their hot-hitting streak over? Time we’ll tell but one thing we know for sure is that Nick Blackburn is capable of throwing a solid game anytime because he has one of the top groundball rates in the majors at 53%. Blackburn is no cinch by any stretch. He lacks a true strikeout pitch and he’s really an all or nothing pitcher. However, he’s not the one laying a big price and this wager is predicated on the really poor history of Derek Holland late in the year. Holland can easily get lit up again and that makes the Twins worth a bet. Play: Minnesota +161 (Risking 2 units).

                      GC MLB PLay- Monday

Monday NL Total Of the Month with system that beats poted total line by over 4 runs leads solid card. Sunday card goes 3-1. Free MLB System Play and radio show info below.

On Monday the Free MLB System Play is on the Texas Rangers. Game 968 at 8:05 Eastern. The Rangers pertain to a system that plays on home favorites off a home favored loss and scored 2 or less runs on 4 or less hits vs an opponent also off a home favored loss and scored 4 or less runs. The Line is too high to unit rate the Rangers but for a 1 unit free play will take a shot. Blackburn for the Twins has been abysmal the past few years on the road vs teams with a winning record. He will take on a Texas lineup that averages 6 runs per game at home and will be tough as they were shut down pretty good last night. Holland for Texas does not possess great numbers this season but I think he will do enough to get the jib done and may get some run support here. Take the Rangers. On Monday the NL Total of the Month backed with a Powerful system that beats the Posted total by over 4 runs is the lead play. I will also have another free Play on the Monday night radio show segment at 8:05 eastern. Listen online at 88.9 wsia.fm. Jump on and start the week off right as we come off a 3-1 Sunday. For the free Play Take Texas. GC
