Analysis: Play on Milwaukee at 8:10 ET. The Brewers could not have asked for a better set up as they start a critical three-game set vs. second place St. Louis tonight. The Cardinals had to play last night and lost to the Cubs 6-3 at home as -155 favorites Milwaukee comes into Monday leading the Cards by 2.5 games in the NL Central and has an excellent shot in this series putting some distance between themselves and the Redbirds. The Brew Crew come in as winners of six in a row and own the best home record in baseball at 39-14 following a weekend sweep of the Astros. They are 35-12 when favored at Miller Park and 31-10 vs. righties. They are 12-1 at home after allowing four runs or less in three straight games and 21-7 here off a one run win. Chris Carpenter has been a big money loser for St. Louis this season (-$780) and was a -195 loser on the money line in his last start for Houston. He lost his only other start this season at Milwaukee, giving up five runs in six innings. He lost to Zack Greinke, who gets the start again tonight. Greinke is finally starting to show why Milwaukee acquired him as his ERA over his L3 starts (all wins) is 0.92. Mirroring his team, Greinke has been dominant at home this year w/ an 8-0 team start record. St. Louis was swept here last month in their last trip to Miller Park.
