LA Angels at Toronto Blue Jays
Pick: Toronto Blue Jays -120
This line is interesting since Ervin Santana has been nearly unhittable in his last three starts. The Angels' righty takes the mound tonight in Toronto against the Blue Jays, who lost two of three to the A's. Santana has tossed two complete games and came two outs short a third straight complete game against the Mariners in his last start. The Angels are 2-4 in Santana's six starts as a road underdog, with the two wins coming at +150. Brandon Morrow has struggled at home, but Toronto has managed to win eight of his last 10 starts. I'll take the Jays here to knock off the Angels.
Neither team really wants to play their starters long, but I just cant get over how negative things have been coming out of Washington. Rex Grossman reported out of shape and has looked bad in camp and John Beck might not play with a groin injury. At least the Steelers' quarterbacks are healthy and have been in this system for a few years now. The lockout really rushed teams right into things and I think veteran teams like Pittsburgh will benefit more from it early on in the year. Washington is going to struggle a little bit until they find their identity. Take Pittsburgh.
Detroit Tigers -109
This is just like the game yesterday when we cashed in with Chicago beating Baltimore. The Tigers need to win these games against weaker opponents, especially when they have a veteran pitcher like Brad Penny on the mound. The Tigers have the better pitcher and better team, so look for them to take care of business. Take Detroit.
