"Mr Chalk" 2011 MLB Regular Season

Ben lee won on Monday in blowout fashion (14-0) with the Tigers -$140/Indians.

Feeling the pressure of only having 2 day's left to the 2011 MLB Regular Season and trying to at least break even.

"Mr Chalk" likes two for Tuesday, the Marlins -$165/Nationals and the Giants -$190/Rockies.

"Mr Chalk" is 99-63 -$452 for the 2011 MLB regular season.

15 unit MLB for Tuesday: (Boston Red Sox -160)
With the playoffs only a few days away the Boston Red Sox will take care of business on Tuesday, Boston has the advantage in starting pitching by nearly 3 runs over the last 3 starts for each pitchers not to mention Boston bullpen is also putting up good numbers over the last 3 games. Boston is also hitting left handed pitching better than the O's over the season and the course of the last 10 games. I see the Boston Red Sox taking this game with ease that's why it's my top rated 15 unit play.

                        Sports Wagers

                        BALTIMORE +158 over Boston Pinnacle
Boston has lost 19 of 25 September games, with its seemingly secure wildcard lead now a thing of the past. The O’s have now took four of the past five against the Red Sox and that includes a game Erik Bedard started last week in which he lasted a mere 2.2 IP. The O’s are having a lot more fun than the Red Sox right now. To Baltimore, this has been like playoff baseball for the past week, as swarms of media are covering it and fans watch this series with great interest. Erik Bedard has spent a lot of time on the DL over the past couple of years. When he’s healthy, he’s good, when he’s not healthy he has major problems and it would seem like his health is in question. He’s walked 10 batters and struck out 11 over his past 13 innings, covering just three starts and 31 days. His xERA over that stretch was 4.98. He’s also had an 86% strand rate over the past month. The whole pitching staff is fragile right now and Bedard might be at the top of that list. Zach Britton has neither the surface stats (4.33 ERA, 1.44 WHIP) nor skills to warrant a long-term investment. This isn’t long term. This is one game against a reeling Red Sox team that can barely watch themselves play. This wager has nothing to do with Britton. This is all about taking back a big tag against a Red Sox club that has a chicken bone stuck in their throats. Play: Baltimore +158 (Risking 2 units).

HOUSTON +158 over St. Louis Pinnacle
You have to hand it to the genius, as he andthe Cardinals have whittled the Wild Card deficit to just one game. They blew a big opportunity last night to tie it but a devastating loss in extra frames to these same Astros prevented that from happening. By most measures, the Cardinals’ offense is blowing the Astros away this month. St. Louis has a .286/.347/.437 line this month; the Astros have a .244/.292/.348 line. Houston has walked fewer times than any other NL team this season while the Cardinals have struck out fewer than any other NL team. That’s all nice but Jake “The Mistake” Westbrook should not be this big a price over anyone. The Cardinals have lost three of Westbrook’s last four starts. He has a BAA of .285 and even though he’s 2-0 against Houston this year, the Astros have hit .313 off him. At Minute Maid Park, Houston his .348 off him. Henry Sosa's skills have been fairly erratic and while he looked great in Double-A this year, it's not wise to get too excited about a 26-year-old dominating at that level. He's yet to display any elite skill in the majors and he may get his clocked cleaned here. Having said that, his strikeout rate is way up over the past month and so is his groundball rate. But, like the wager above, this one is all about wagering against Westbrook and the Cards in a pressure filled game. The Astros are relaxed and loving this postion they’re in. If the Cards win, LaRussa will take the credit because he thinks he’s smarter than Einstein. Play: Houston +158 (Risking 2 units).

                        Toronto +116 over CHICAGO Pinnacle
The White Sox responded to Ozzie’s departure last night by going out and winning a game for him the day he announced he wouldn’t be back. The impact of that announcement before last night’s game did not have time to settle in but today it will likely be felt today. The South Side has been reeling for weeks and Mark Buehrle’s lack of skills has finally caught up to him. Buehrle posted a 6.83 ERA over the past month, covering 29 IP and five starts. Over that stretch he’s walked 10 and struck out 15. Buehrle has a three-year history of out-performing his skills and did so again this year. He’s a big risk laying juice with a team that has played so badly all season. Henderson Alvarez posted a nifty 66/17 K/BB in 88 IP at Double-A at age 21 before his recall to Toronto in August. His command profile has translated well to MLB so far. In 57 IP, he’s walked just eight batters while striking out 34. He also has an elite groundball rate of 56%. Alvarez just keeps getting better and given his age and his average fastball velocity of 94 MPH, this is a guy to keep on your radar for next year. The Jays need one more win to play at least .500 ball this year and two more to finish above .500. It’s there for them if they want it bad enough. Play: Toronto +116 (Risking 2 units).

                                Tuesday's Selection...

Your Tuesday winner is: 150,000♦ Winner # 3 in a row is the Atlanta Braves with Derek Lowe as the small home underdog against the Philadelphia Phillies with Roy Oswalt.
As I type my analysis, the Braves are +105 pretty much everywhere I look.
Remember, both listed pitchers must start, or no action on the release.
