Milwaukee –1 +113 over ARIZONA
The Brewers are not the same team on the road but one really has to figure that they’ll come into this third game relaxed and very ready to finish this host off. Most joints allow you to lay a single run now and that’s precisely what we’re endorsing. Josh Collmenter is the Snakes last hope and that’s a problem for Arizona. Manager Kirk Gibson skipped him a couple times down the stretch run because the manager had very little confidence in him. Gibson has less confidence in Joe Saunders. After posting a 5.77 ERA over 10 starts at Triple-A last season, Collmenter was among baseball's most pleasant surprises in the season’s first 2½-months. With an arsenal focused on just a fastball and a change-up, it could not continue. Collmenter's 3.38 ERA was driven by his outstanding marks in April and May, which were a byproduct of an absurdly low hit % and a high strand rate. What happened after that is simply an expected ERA correction. Collmenter’s 33%/47% groundball/fly-ball profile is a bomb waiting to happen and at this park against this team you can expect either balls in the gap or balls to go yard. Don't get us wrong. Collmenter has very good command and a skill set that can serve the tail end of a pitching staff but he’s not playoff ready, nor is he the guy you want to put your season on the line with. Beware. Shaun Marcum is well-rested and has ice in his veins. He can’t be rattled. He has outstanding control and a high strikeout rate. He lost seven games in 33 starts and that’s pretty sweet. On the road, Marcum went 8-3 with a 2.21 ERA and even if he gives up something, it may not matter because this one could get out of hand early. Play: Milwaukee –1 +113 (Risking 2 units).
