800? BUFFALO and 200? OVER - Buffalo's annihilation tonight will lead to us getting the over, so soak this analysis in as an all-in-one for the side and total winner.
The Bulls come in off a pair of wins, and have been putting together some offensive spurts that should knock Miami-O out early on. We've seen Buffalo score at least 25 points in six of its eight contests this season, and that's a huge difference against a team that is averaging 18.5 points this season - ranking 106th with the scoring offense. If you toss out a 38-point performance against Charleston Southern, you're looking at 15.7 points per game.
On the other side of the ball, Miami-O's scoring defense has been atrocious, as it comes in after giving up 54 points at home to Kent State, a 2-7 team that has looked terrible all season. The Redhawks' scoring defense is 91st in the nation, giving up an average of 30.1 points per game.
In all, the 4-4 Bulls aren't anything to brag about this season on the whole, but after two straight wins, and this one being at home on national TV with a chance to inch closer to bowl eligibility, I expect a blowout win with the total to soar past the posted number.
The Phoenix Suns shot 50 percent from the floor last season which was the highest field-goal percentage in the NBA in 11 years and they're off to an even more impressive start this season. The Suns will visit the Nets tonight after a compiled NBA-best 24-6 record against the East last season. Phoenix (2-1) averaged 110.1 points last season and shot 50 percent from the field which was the highest shooting percentage in the NBA since the 1996-97 season. They shot even better against the East making 50.1 percent while posting the league's best interconference record. Phoenix has started this season even better shooting 52.8 percent and coming off their best performance yet. Phoenix made 55.1 percent of its shots on Saturday against Portland rallying from a halftime deficit to win 107-96. Steve Nash is averaging 19.0 ppg and shooting 60.0 percent from 3-point range and the Suns are also getting strong efforts inside from the duo of Amare Stoudemire and Shaquille O'Neal. Stoudemire is averaging a double-double scoring 22.0 points and pulling down 11.0 rebounds per game while O'Neal is averaging 13.0 and 9.7 respectively. Stoudemire shot the ball well against the Nets last season as he averaged 30.5 points and 12.0 rebounds shooting 74.2 percent. Jason Kidd and Richard Jefferson are both gone from the Nets as they are rebuilding around the young core of Devin Harris and Yi Jianlian although the two haven't played well so far. After beating Washington in their season opener, the Nets lost 105-97 to Golden State on Saturday as Jianlian was 0-for-4 and went scoreless while Harris was 3-for-12 and finished with 13 points. Center Josh Boone was 7-for-15 for 17 points and pulled down 14 rebounds after contributing just four points and three boards in the opener. The Nets lone star Vince Carter is averaging 27.9 points lifetime against the Suns but he doen"t have any suport this year to match up with the Suns tonight.
