    #2
    Brian W. Spencer's Daily Picks

Presque Isle Downs - Race #1
#5 Anhinga She has given away ground late in both of her starts so far, but she draws well to prompt the other pace from out here and doesn't seem far off what it would take to land this.
#2 Making Mischief Debuter gets a top rider in the irons for this and goes for a team that can get them ready to score in this kind of spot. Get a look at her on the track.
#1 Lady Loves Money She has stayed for underneath shares in both starts, but her pace from the fence might leave her in a spot to take the worst of this and be vulnerable again in the final yards.
Race Summary Anhinga was only a length off it last time out, and she should be in a perfect spot to prompt the pace from the start today. Price might be OK, too.
Presque Isle Downs - Race #7
#4 Kotylos Think he might have a claim on this at a price, as there are a few potential forward players who could ensure an honest tempo for him to finish into, and he was competitive with some decent special weight groups here last year. Capable of better second off the break.
#2 Schnittker Positional pace hasn't done much wrong through two starts, and he should be in line for another perfect trip right up on the splits. Modest price is the only real concern.
#3 Reeled In Would want him on some of the wider tickets, as there are a few running lines on his page that would probably make him pretty imposing today. On the scene late.
Race Summary Kotylos should be a decent price today, and he has some room to improve after a modest comeback effort. That summer run here last year might stack up OK with these if he can start working his way back toward it.
Presque Isle Downs - Race #8
#6 Oldzfourfortytwo Not a bad comeback effort from him last out when showing pace, battling, and staying on pretty well in the lane. Any upside from there obviously keeps him in the mix with a group that looks pretty similar to that last one. Lots to like.
#8 Charlie Charlie He should be right up on the top choice's pace again today after beating that one last out. 12-year-old obviously still has a little left to give at this kind of level.
#1 Legio Think his last two might be a tiny touch better than they look at first glance, and it's not a bad thing to get Gallardo up for this run. Some price appeal.
Race Summary Oldzfourfortytwo has to turn some tables out of his last two races, but he ran a pretty big one off the bench last out and might be a bit tighter today.

      #3
      Frank Carulli's Daily Picks

      Delaware Park - Race #1
#6 TWO MINUTE LICK (1-1) Should take less than 2 minutes for a repeat victory on the class drop.
#5 EXAGERADORA (6-1) Back-pedaled at 6F on barn switch but can use her speed well, nonetheless.
#3 MY JO JO (8-1) Out-kicked the favorite to win the last time she ran long at Delaware.
Race Summary TWO MINUTE LICK became the first runner in this field to win at 1-1/16 miles by overcoming a slow pace in a $12,500 claiming race last out. She runs for the cheapest tag of her career, should be close-up in another pace-less race and is likely to repeat. But with odds-on favoritism looming, play 6-3 and 6-5 straight exactas to try and get some value.
      Delaware Park - Race #4
#10 BUSTIN UP (4-1) Won three times on turf last year, missed in ‘photo’ at this level off the claim.
#3 GREYZER (10-1) Took money, showed a pulse in dirt route, right running style to factor at a price.
#13 GUNSLINGER (7-2) Best numbers, best record on Delaware lawn, outside post to contend with.
Race Summary BUSTIN UP raced close-up and gained ground late on the 5-to-2 winner, earning one of his top grass speed figures off the claim by a low-percentage barn. He draws outside today but should work out a good stalking trip on the cutback to a long sprint. Bet to win and place and play a 3-10-13 exacta box.
      Delaware Park - Race #6
#7 SPECTRIER (7-2) Steps up in good form, switches pilots again, last win was at this level.
#2 MR. MAC QUHAE (5-2) Lightly-raced 5yo sheds blinks, may need only to duplicate runner-up finish.
#3 FLAT LUCKY (8-1) Can beat these on memory alone despite winless mark at this distance.
Race Summary SPECTRIER steps up in class after rallying for second in two of his last three starts in $5,000 route races. He chased the pace-controlling winner last out and rallied 4-wide after a slow start in his prior runner-up finish. Bet to win and place.

            Race 5 - Trial - 350y on the Dirt. Purse: $10000 Class Rating: 99

QUARTER HORSE 350Y, FOR THREE YEAR OLDS THAT WERE NOMINATED AND REMAIN ELIGIBLE. WEIGHT: 125 LBS.
            RECOMMENDED CHOICES
            # 3 COWGURL UP 3/1
            # 5 BELIEVE IN PERRY 2/1
            # 4 IMAGINACION 5/1
COWGURL UP has a decent shot to take this race. Has run solidly when racing a short race. This filly with Vivanco in the saddle makes her a solid contender. Earned a strong Equibase Speed Fig in the last race. Can run another good one in this contest. BELIEVE IN PERRY - Looks like a solid player for the exotics. Could provide positive profits based on respectable recent speed figures with an average of 77. IMAGINACION - Jungers has him trained soundly to break promptly out of the starting gate. Is a solid choice - given the 99 speed fig from his most recent race.

              Lone Star Park - Race #6 - Post: 7:24pm - Claiming - 5.0 furlongs on the Turf. Purse: $18,000 Class Rating: 96

              Rating:

              #2 SPEIGHTSVILLE (ML=4/1)
              #7 STRAIGHT LUCK (ML=15/1)
              #3 TEAM LEADER (ML=7/2)

SPEIGHTSVILLE - I like the way this gelding's finish positions have gotten better with each start recently. A sign of a horse coming into top form. This gelding is in nice condition, having run a good race on June 16th, finishing first. STRAIGHT LUCK - The rider/conditioner duo of Wethey and Pish has a strong ROI together. This gelding has been posting some excellent workout times. TEAM LEADER - Have to like the way Caldwell has raced this gelding back into shape off the layoff. Animal is well spotted in this sprint and I think he'll run well today. Caldwell is strong in turf sprints. This horse should have no rationalizations if he doesn't win. Last time around the track on the sod, this horse was solid. Anything close today, and this one should win. The improved speed figures over the last 3 races is great. Caldwell drops him in this race in shape and ready to win.

Vulnerable Contenders: #5 ALTO ROAD (ML=2/1), #1 MALIBU THUNDER (ML=6/1),

ALTO ROAD - You should normally gamble against probable favorites that haven't raced or show no activity in the morning over the last three weeks. Tough to put any dough on this colt on the top end. Likes to finish in the money though. MALIBU THUNDER - Notched a mediocre speed fig last time out in a $10,000 Claiming race on June 21st. Not likely to see an improved performance off of that fig.
STRAIGHT WAGERS: Bet on #2 SPEIGHTSVILLE to win if you can get at least 3/1 odds

                Penn National - Race #1 - Post: 5:45pm - SO - 5.0 furlongs on the Turf. Purse: $22,000 Class Rating: 74

                Rating:

                #9 GIFT OF GAB (ML=3/1)
                #2 ASUE (ML=15/1)
                #7 SECRET WISPER (ML=7/2)

GIFT OF GAB - This rider and trainer's animals have been producing a profitable ROI. Have to give this mare a chance. Ran a solid effort last out within the last 30 days. I like the case that this mare's last speed figure, 83, is tops in this group. ASUE - The March 29th affair at Charles Town was at a class level of (91). Dropping down the ladder based on class rating points considerably, so she should be in a good spot to win. SECRET WISPER - I really like sprinters that make a rapid turnaround. This filly should be in top form, this far into her form cycle. Ran a lackluster race at Penn National last time out. Racing under normal track conditions puts this filly at the top of my list of contenders.

                Vulnerable Contenders: #11 SASSY BABE (ML=7/2), #5 RAINAS ROLLIN (ML=4/1), #10 PYROTECHNICS (ML=9/2),

SASSY BABE - This mare has already been thwarted as the favorite twice. Hard to give her another chance. This lower class level horse is going to have to give a gutty effort today after those last two stretch runs. RAINAS ROLLIN - Tough to put any money on this mare on the front end. Likes to land in the top three though. PYROTECHNICS - This horse hasn't had even one drill after running so well on June 4th. Disappointing speed fig last time out at Penn National at 5 furlongs. Don't believe this horse will improve too much in today's race.
STRAIGHT WAGERS: Bet on #9 GIFT OF GAB to win if we can get at least 3/1 odds

                  # 4 COMPETITIVE SPIRIT 4/1
                  # 3 GOSPEL DANDY 7/2
CLEARLY A JET has a quite good shot to take this race. He has been racing well recently while recording solid Equibase Speed Figures. This gelding is a contender based on his earnings per start in dirt sprint races. GOSPEL DANDY - Looks very good to be up near the lead at the first call. The Equibase speed fig of 53 from his most recent contest looks solid in here.
