8 Unit Play. Take Toronto Argonauts +4 over Calgary Stampeders (7p.m., Sunday, August 4 CFL+) Toronto is too good of an historic team to have this type of record against Calgary. They cannot afford to take this game lightly and should come out strong early in this game. Now, the good. This Argonaut team is the only team this season to defeat the defending Grey Cup champions, Montreal. The Argos are first in rushing with 124.4 yards per game and second in scoring offense with 27.7 ppg. Calgary, meanwhile, is second to last in offensive scoring with just 23.6 ppg and third to last in defensive points allowed per game with 28.1 ppg surrendered. They are also second to last in defensive yards allowed, giving up 383.9 yards per game. While Toronto's history against Calgary is definitely cause for alarm, the Argonauts are simply a better team. Toronto's recent history on the road is also promising, as they're 14-5 SU in their last 19 road games. Anytime we can grab the better team AND points, we'll do so and let the chips fall where they may. Take Toronto plus the points and good luck!
4-Unit Play. Take Chicago Cubs -145 over St. Louis Cardinals (Sunday @ 7:10pm est)
We roll with the Chicago Cubs here as they hook up against the St. Louis Cardinals. What you have here is a team that will be highly focused coming in. This is a team that lost 4-5 last game, it is a team that had won 3 games prior and took 2 of 3 games from Kansas City as well. This is a team that sees Mikols here who went 6 innings, 7 hits and 3 runs against Washington and who comes off a win, and he had gone 6 innings, 7 hits and 2 runs against the Braves and picked up a win there but the Braves are struggling. Then, he went 5 innings, 8 hits and 6 runs against the Cubs last time and yes he has revenge, but we like Steele here wit ha 3.38 era as he come off an immediate loss, giving up 4 walks which is tied with a season high in walks for him and we absolutely love him to bounce-back here along with the Cubs. This is the same Steele that went 7 innings, 3 hits and 0 runs against Baltimore or 9 innings, 2 hits and 0 runs against the Angels, let's roll with the Cubs today.
