Monday 9/2/24 Free Plays / Trends / Betting Info / Etc
We really like the Royals in this matchup. The price seems off when you consider that the Royals won three of four in Cleveland last week and how Guardians' scheduled starter, Gavin Williams, was 1-4 with a 6.56 ERA in five starts last month.
This is a 1% free play on the Royals the moneyline (-104)
Monday MLB Free play. My selection is on Seattle over Oakland at 7:05 pm et on Monday.
With the Mariners reeling in an ultra-competitive A.L. playoff hunt, this series takes on extra importance. I look for Seattle to bounce back on Monday as it sends Logan Gilbert to the hill against Osvaldo Bido of the A's.
Gilbert has quietly overtaken George Kirby for the role of staff ace. The right-hander checks in sporting a 3.13 FIP and 0.90 WHIP on the campaign. Inexplicably, Seattle has lost each of Gilbert's last three starts. I look for that to change here, noting that he has held current A's hitters to 9-for-64 (.141) with a .464 OPS over the course of his career.
A's starter Osvaldo Bido has certainly exceeded expectations since joining the starting rotation. Oakland has won each of his last four outings but we'll bank against it notching a fifth win in a row here.
The A's were forced to use key reliever Mason Miller for 34 pitches on Sunday, likely leaving him unavailable for Monday's game. Take Seattle.
I'm betting the A's +128 on the money line in Monday's series opener against the Mariners. Oakland isn't one of those bad teams that have threw in the towel on this season. A's got some fight in them. Hard to not like them at this price with Osvaldo Bido getting the start. Bido has a 1.55 ERA over his last 5 starts. A's have won each of his last 4 starts. Seattle will have the bigger name on the mound in Logan Gilbert, but they have lost 4 of his last 5 starts. Gilbert's also not nearly as sharp on the road (3.81 ERA) as he is at home (2.35 ERA). Give me the A's +128!
