    Brian W. Spencer's Daily Picks

Presque Isle Downs - Race #1
#8 Blah Blah World She has been grinding away at one pace late in her recent races, but she'll cut the price tag in half today to try this $7,500 level for the first time. She might get a perfect first-jump trip today while getting around two turns.
#4 Cheerful Trout Wouldn't be a shock to see her win this while trying this level, but she has had a lot of chances and tends to find one or two of them a little too tough. She at least has some proven local route form.
#6 Spoken Vow She showed a little bit of pace before giving way for more than twice this price on the Parx turf last time out, but she's not meeting a ton of other pace and might get a great trip right up on the splits.
Race Summary Blah Blah World moves around two turns while getting into the easiest spot she has ever seen, and that should be enough to get her over the top in a race that doesn't go very deep on paper.
Presque Isle Downs - Race #3
#5 Little Lamb Chop She has some proving to do on class, but her form is pretty appealing when you just focus on the two local starts that have produced two wins. There are a lot of runners in here who have forward/pressing pace but aren't committed to the front, and this one's versatile pace might let her rider pick a great spot in the early hustle or go if nobody else wants the front.
#1 Cloud In the Wind Think she's one of the ones today. She caught a solid winner last time out and might wind up in a really nice spot tucked in just behind the pace if she doesn't try to force the issue early from the fence. I like her just as much as the top choice -- just think the price is going to get less appealing here.
#6 Reigert Girls She has some common company threads on paper as the rail runner, and she would benefit if all the forward players knocked heads early and came up tired in the lane. Not impossible, but think she's more likely underneath.
Race Summary Little Lamb Chop can take a shot on the engine if the other early runners are content to press, but she can also flip the script and settle a length off battling leaders if needed. Think having that kind of option makes her interesting today.
Presque Isle Downs - Race #8
#2 Third City He made a nice move but just couldn't sustain it to the wire, but I think that might set him up for something better with that first route run under his belt. Could see him sweeping past today.
#5 Whiskey or Wine He can be tough with something similar to that last one, but I think the price is going to be short today after the good run there. Spying speed should be in a great spot throughout.
#10 Bengal Cat I don't really trust him to stay, but he has some outside attack pace that could be dangerous while dropping in class today. That said, I also wouldn't be too mad to see him go on a send mission and set this up for his barnmate.
Race Summary Third City looked decent when getting around two turns last time out, and I'm hoping the pace will be honest enough with a couple of potential speed types drawn inside and outside.

      Frank Carulli's Daily Picks

      Parx - Race #1
#6 BORRACHO CONCHO (5-2) Can carry speed farther in this field, gets weight off for return.
#7 HAVE NO REGRETS (10-1) On the improve, won with this jockey, exits fast race.
#5 MY MAN WOODY (9-5) Set pace to stretch in long sprint at this level before claim.
Race Summary The field is a combined 3-for-55 at 6 furlongs. BORRACHO CONCHO has a win at the distance to go along with the best speed and a good post to use it from. He sheds 5 pounds off a seven-week layoff and can make amends as a twice-beaten favorite. Bet to win and place and play a 6,7/5,6,7/ALL trifecta.
      Parx - Race #4
#1 DREAMWITHINADREAM (5-2) ‘Willingly’ when second to 2-1 winner the last time he ran route.
#3 HEY WHAT’S UP (9-5) Set pace off layoff, earned top speed fig despite tiring, gets class relief.
#4 SURFBOARD (4-1) Stalked dueling leaders through soft splits, held third in five-horse field.
Race Summary DREAMWITHINADREAM is versatile, consistent, runs well fresh and draws the rail in his longest distance test to date. He rallied to win at 6F last out for a 33-percent ‘repeat’ barn. Bet to win and place.
      Parx - Race #8
#2 CEDAR VALLEY (6-1) Lands in ideal spot at best distance for hot trainer-jockey tandem.
#7 PEYTON’S COLLEGE (4-1 Left too much work to do on cutback to short sprint in three-peat try.
#1 HIGHTIME VALENTINE (9-2) First or second in 13 of 27 at Parx, including romp two starts ago.
Race Summary CEDAR VALLEY is eligible for this spot by a week and arrives off a useful sprint at Monmouth. She ‘dueled into the stretch’ with the 9-to-5 favorite but faded as the 7-1 repeat winner passed by. She gets Maldonado, who is 6-for-15 the last month riding for hot barn. Bet to win and place and play a 1-2-7 exacta box.
