I think BIG TROUBLE is a quite good choice. The average class rating of 88 makes this one hard to beat. Has been running solidly lately and should be close to the front end early on. Looks competitive for the conditions of this race today, showing solid figs in turf route races lately. HAY STACK - She has been running soundly and the Speed Figures are among the most competitive in this field. Make a note that this one runs on Lasix today. RANDOM HARVEST - Displays reliable Equibase speed figs on average overall when compared with the rest of this group. Is a sharp contender based on figs recorded recently under today's conditions.

ZERO GRAVITY - Possibly a peak effort for this gelding today. Been getting closer to the winner with each recent start. This horse coming off a solid race in the last 30 days is a win candidate in my book. You have to really like that recent race speed figure, 92, which is the best last race speed figure of this group. 64-78-92 are last three speed figs. Improving each time out is something he should do again today. EXALTED JOY - I like to wager on this handicapping theory, a pony coming back off a solid effort within the last month. Three consecutive improved Equibase speed figures (74-87-89) make this horse a solid contender. FAT DADDY - A thoroughbred coming back this soon after a sharp contest is a good signal. Like the way this gelding's finish positions keep getting better. That's a sure sign of improving form. Recent speed figures show strong pattern of improvement. BOUDIN - On September 29th this colt shipped in to take the top prize and looks good right back. This rider and trainer have a profitable ROI when they team up. This colt is in excellent form right now. Ended up first last out and comes back promptly.

BLACK EMPIRE - The way this event sets up this colt will be in perfect striking position when they start the running for real. This colt earned a nice speed rating of 63 in his last event. That speed fig should be strong enough to score in today's event.

SHACE SLOANE - Didn't hit the board on June 21st at Gulfstream Park. Followed it up with another lackluster outing. TANK - Didn't land in the top three on Sep 28th after the extended layoff. Be doubtful of this horse this time around. The finish position of eighth in the last race shows me that this equine may be going out of form. This mount ran a pedestrian speed figure last time around the track. He shouldn't run better and will probably suffer defeat in today's event running that fig. STONE COLD FLEX - This entrant gave a lackluster effort last time finishing fifth. Don't see any chance of improvement in today's race.

2nd race [Alw 50000s, 7F] – (2) Princess Becca gets blinkers on after running second at this level in her last pair of starts. (7) Roman Goddess had four third-place finishers in starter allowances and a recent second in a $35,000 claimer. (3) She’s Cool returns from an August layoff and five top three finishes in a row. (4) Five to Two hit the board in her last six starts with the past two in NY-bred allowances.

4th race [NY, OC 45k/N2X, 7F] – (1) Cruise to Catalina (A) was an impressive winner of the NY-bred first-level allowance by seven lengths in her third career start. (8) Speightful Lily (B) tossed her head at the break, bore out to go nine wide, and comes back from a July layoff. (3) Maggy’s Palace won the first-level allowance at Aqueduct in June and then tried a pair of state-bred stakes. (7) True Empress had two wins at Finger Lakes this summer along with a third at Saratoga at today’s level.

(10) Red Burgundy has two starts in 2024 with a second in an allowance last time and a stakes appearance in her first start of the year. (5) Midnight Concerto is a deep closer with a pair of third-place finishes in allowances and just missed the win by a length.
