I've got to go with WORK'N ON A BUZZ. Gorham has this filly racing well and is a solid pick based on the very good Equibase Speed Figures garnered in route races lately. Appears to be the type to be helped with second time Lasix here. Looks solid against this group of animals and will most likely be one of the early speedsters. MIESHA - Must be considered given the class of races run as of late. Is hard not to consider based on Speed Figures which have been competitive - 62 avg - of late. TIERNEY - She looks respectable in this spot and I expect will be on the lead or close at the midpoint. Must be considered in this race if only for the very good speed figure put up in the last race.

OGEMA BAY - Ennis enters this animal in a spot where she should fit well based on her last two Equibase speed figures. The September 13th event at Belterra Park was at a class level of (88). Dropping down the class scale a significant amount, so she should be in a good spot. This filly's last speed figure is strong enough to prove victorious here, I'll bet on her right back this time. Trying to win for the first time moving from a race on the turf to the dirt. I think Ennis will have her in good condition for today's event. Leading into this race, this pony has registered 3 speed figs that are equal to or higher than today's class rating. An indication she should compete well in today's race.

Vulnerable Contenders: #2 ARDEN AR (ML=2/1), #9 MONEYSLOT (ML=9/2), #6 REVENUE TRAIN (ML=5/1),

ARDEN AR - I cannot play this habitual non-winner. Gets the assignment completed once in a while. Hard to bet on a racer that lays up for a long time then doesn't end up on the board off the very long layoff. MONEYSLOT - If you keep choosing these sort of 'bridesmaid' types, you're going to be disillusioned regularly. Common speed figure in the last race at Mountaineer Park at 1 mile. Don't think this pony will improve too much in today's race. REVENUE TRAIN - Difficult to put any cash on this filly on the front end. Likes to end up on the board though. This filly has already been beaten as the favorite twice. Hard to give her another chance. Finished third in her most recent race with a somewhat easily forgotten speed rating. When I look at today's Equibase class figure, it would take an improved performance to score after that in this group.

I think KOOL KATHMANDU is a solid choice. He has been running admirably recently while recording strong speed figs. Ought to go to the front end and may never look back. Should be considered based on the solid speed figure recorded in the last race. BROCKMONINOFF - Barrow has a solid win percentage with horses racing in dirt sprint races. Looks quite good to be up on the front end at the first call. MARTINKELLY - Has run quite well when racing a dirt sprint race. Win percentage one of the most favorable in this group of animals.

WARRIOR'S VOW - A big drop in Equibase class figure points from his Sep 25th race at Parx Racing. Based on that element, I will give this animal the edge. The jock/trainer duo of Haddock and Penaloza has a strong ROI together. I usually like playing sprint horses who are 3-4 races into a return. DR BAYTER - Ran in the last race against tougher competition at Monmouth Park. The move to a lower class level should suit him well. You have to really like that most recent race fig, 71, which is the highest recent race speed rating of this field. 55-57-71 are last three Equibase speed figures. Improving each time out is something he should do again right here in this race. MAGICAL JAIME - Soto drops him down to this class level. You don't need too much more information to believe this horse has a shot at this level.

Vulnerable Contenders: #4 CHASING STARDOM (ML=7/2), #10 FENWICK JACK (ML=6/1), #8 SIR CUPID (ML=8/1),

CHASING STARDOM - Didn't meet expectations when backed as the favorite back to back. This racer likes to be in the money, but doesn't usually finish on top. Leave out of the top spot. I checked out this horse's past performances and he doesn't do well as the favorite and is likely to be favored today. FENWICK JACK - Should be difficult for this racer to beat this group off of that last speed figure. Unlikely to improve enough to run a figure anywhere near today's Equibase class figure, so put him on the possibly overvalued equines list. SIR CUPID - Difficult to keep following this kind of 'bridesmaid' horse. This gelding hasn't had any recent favorable outcomes in sprint contests. No picnic to bet on him in this event.

If performance in the last race is representative, this interesting entrant will have a very formidable shot in this contest. High last race TrackMaster Speed Rating. DAME GOOD TIME - Could very well be the most competitive in the field here, showing great figures of late. Avg speed is a solid 90. Has a huge shot in this one, if he can race to his back class. SPLENDID - Earned a 75 speed figure last out. A duplicate showing here should get the win for this race. Considered a solid wager based solely on his high trip to the winner's circle figure.
