Boston is off to a perfect 4-0 start as they head to Indiana to face the 1-3 Indiana Pacers this evening. When handicapping revenge I look to see what really is the revenge motivation. Last year Boston sweep Indiana but despite the sweep the Pacers may have played them the toughest off all opponents in the playoffs last year. The Pacers blew GM 1 after having a big lead, then could not recover in GM 2 in Boston. The series then switched to Indianapolis where Indiana got 2 covers losing both games by 3 points each. In the games at home Indiana had to play without Tyrese Haliburton in those last 2 games, and he is the straw that stirred the drink for the Pacers last year. He is back and ready in what I consider a “True Revenge” situation tonight. It is only a small sample size but the Pacers are showing a slow uptick from their defensive play from last year. Boston comes in with their high octane offense which is #1 and scoring and #1 in shooting the 3 ball. Indiana has done a much better job defending the 3 ball as they are 7th the league at the outset. Indiana has played just one home game, and they were beat in overtime by Philadelphia. They will look to bring their A+ game tonight in front of a sold out area looking for that 1st win of the season at home. 5 of the last 6 between these two teams have been decided by 5 points or less. I think we are getting some good line value this evening, as I had Boston a 4 -4.5 point favorite. The defending Champs have a target on their back each and every night, and an Indiana team looking to atone for their sweep from last year. The Pacers give the Celtics all they can handle as this one goes down to the wire. Take the points with Indiana.
