PRINCIPE CARLO - I think that a sprinter coming off a layoff will usually run his best in the 3rd or 4th start back. A wise man taught me to invest in the lone speed horse. Take a look at this horse. This animal is number one in earnings per race. He looks solid in today's race. EDDIE M - You'll be generating money right and left by turning your cash onto this jock/handler combination. SUPREMELY - This gelding is in good form. Ended up first on October 16th. Just see his most recent speed fig, 94. That one fits in this group.

Vulnerable Contenders: #1 SOARING BIRD (ML=9/2), #2 PROVEN HOPE (ML=8/1),

SOARING BIRD - The fifth place result in the last affair was not that great. Finished fifth in his most recent race with a most unsatisfactory speed rating. When I look at today's Equibase class figure, it would take an improved performance to score after that in this field. PROVEN HOPE - No good fortune for this runner in a sprint race over the last couple months tells me that this gelding is in a formidable situation If you keep betting these kind of 'hanger' types, you're going to be dissatisfied frequently.

Del Mar - Race #6

#5 Citizen Barrett	He finished up OK behind an easy winner in that debut try last month, and I like that he has already proven he can get past some horses in a race without much serious finishing ability. Dangerous with reasonable upside today.
#1 Empire Warrior	Think this barn has a decent claim on this race with either the top choice or this guy, as there is some room to improve after he chased the pace and stopped in the debut try. Wouldn't be a shock to see better.
#4 Whiskeyinateacup	There are a few tries on his page that would keep him in the frame today, but he's not that consistent and doesn't typically hold his form off a good effort like that last one. In the mix but tough to trust.
Race Summary	Citizen Barrett ran on with some mild energy in the debut, and that might set him up for something better today while meeting a group without much staying power.

Del Mar - Race #7

#8 Special Look	She showed a bit of speed in the Los Al debut before packing it in late to finish last in a small bunch, but she's got a versatile pedigree for the move to the turf and might stick around better today.
#5 American Privilege	Wouldn't be any shock to see her ready to roll today, so get a look at her ahead of this -- assuming she's going to look well-meant on the tote and track.
#1 Paarl	Rail draw could be tricky, but I'm not sure this is the strongest group we're going to see here at this level. As always, give her a look in advance, but she's probably one I'd figure to have on the multi-race plays.
Race Summary	Special Look has some pace appeal in a race with a lot of questions marks, and she could be dangerous if she can flash similar pace on the move to the turf at second asking. Enough to like at a midrange price.

Del Mar - Race #9

#9 Blue Fashion	She has had her share of chances, but she turned in a competitive race with similar last time out that would stack up well today if she can hold that form. Price should still be appealing enough while players ask her to prove that last one back today -- Berrios is good with these local cheaper turf types.
#11 Last Elizabethan	Think you can make a pretty good case for her as a decent single/stand in the late plays, but I just worry about the way that she typically stalls just a tiny bit in the final yards. Could be vulnerable to getting nipped on the wire again.
#12 Happyasaclam	She's reliable enough at this level to think she can break through soon, but I think Last Elizabethan is the more likely one to navigate this trip and group from a high draw.
Race Summary	Blue Fashion has had a couple mild excuses in some of her recent starts, and something like her last keeps her in the picture again today at a price.

Really keen on the chance of RITCHIE RICH taking down the winner's share for this race. Certainly should be given a look based on the formidable speed figure achieved in the last contest. The knowledge group keenly points out that when Ratchford drives this standardbred, the odds of finishing top 3 go way up. Some trainers just fit better with certain standardbreds. That seems to be the case in this race with Ratchford. A nice bet. SPIN FOR LIFE - With one of the most solid drivers in terms of crossing the wire first, don't count this gelding out of the gathering. The 4 hole sports a much better than average win stat at Flamboro Downs. WHAT HAVE I DONE - Feel the need for speed, this race horse has been turning in some outstanding TrackMaster speed figs averaging around 58. Good for a win wager just off the excellent prior class figures. Have to like this interesting entrant.

MAPPOS LION - Chances are greatly increased for contenders starting from the 5 position at Woodbine Mohawk Park. Certainly should be given a look based on the good speed rating achieved in the last race. 5^th race [OC 50k/N1X, 1 mi] – (5) Sedona (A) tried to rally wide on a track that was favoring inside speed and finished third as the favorite. (6) Bells Beach was an impressive winner of a maiden special weight at Keeneland in the spring before trying a stakes race in June for Chad Brown. (4) I’m Buzzy was second in a similar spot in September. (1) Save Us Melania has two open length victories in a row moving from a maiden claimer to a starter allowance.

6^th race [NY, Alw 80000, 1 1/16 mi TURF] – (7) Amplitude (A) bobbled a bit at the start of his second race and drew off to break his maiden. (3) Slapintheface missed finishing in the top three only once in nine starts with five seconds. (4) Miztertonic is a deep closer who is likely to finish in the vertical exotics. (5) Miracle Mike has a few recent races that make him a serious contender in this field.

8^th race [NY, Md Sp Wt, 1 1/16 mi TURF] – (5) Starlight Dancer (A) now has three consecutive second-place finishes. Last time she broke on top, set a very fast early pace, and managed to hang on for the place spot. (1) Autumn has six top three finishes from 11 starts and may have found the right field in which she could win. (2) Just One More has been off since her debut in April at 9-1 where she had to steady in the stretch. She will come back without the blinkers. (3) Alittlebitnaughty fits well in this field.

9^th race [Central Park, 1 mi TURF] – (9) Early Adopter (A) had to check at the eighth pole during his stretch rally and still finished third in a Grade 2 race. (10) Super Swift broke his maiden at first asking and then ran second going from dirt to turf in the Atlantic Beach at Aqueduct. (8) Smooth Breeze also got a debut victory and then moved to a stakes where he was fourth in the Pilgrim (G2) behind two horses that ran in the Breeders’ Cup. (4) Jack and Jim won his first race at 3-1 with a late rally against NY-breds.

Best bets: Sedona (5^th); Amplitude (6^th). Best value: Starlight Dancer (8^th); Early Adopter (9^th).
