RUGGLES - Triana is back for another affair today after riding on board this equine for the first time on November 8th and ought to know the ropes to this one a little better. This pony should go right out to the early lead and may never look back. Could wire to wire the field. Just missed hitting the board on Nov 8th at Remington Park. With decent morning odds in this race, he has my interest. This gelding registered a good speed rating of 60 in his last race. That speed figure should be lofty enough to prove victorious this time. GET DREAMY - I just may give this one a good shot. Should rebound off last race where he did run outside the top 3, but was within 5 lengths at the finish line. Diaz comes to ride again after getting to know the colt in the last race. This horse ran off the board at Remington Park last race out in the slop. He should improve in this event without the off-track conditions.

INACLASSOFMYOWN - Would have to get quite a bit more than the morning line odds of 2/1 to play this entrant. BOX A ROCKS - He showed not much at all in the last event. FREEWAY - Oddsmaker's morning line of 8/1 make this thoroughbred a pass by my standards.

GUEST COMMENTARY: The Brain - RUGGLES - Finished a disappointing fourth at Remington Park on November 8th. But that was on a sloppy track. Expect much better in today's event.

My selection in this race is ALVY. Could best this field based on the Equibase Speed Fig - 96 - of his last affair. BLUE KINGDOM - When Feliciano uses Alvelo there's a good chance for sizeable profits. The Equibase Speed Fig of 91 from his last race looks respectable in here. MUST BE LOVE - Is worth a close look and may be a wager - strong Equibase Speed Figures (95 average) at today's distance and surface lately. Has been running very well lately and will most likely be close to the lead early on.

ONLY AFTER MIDNITE is my choice and is a formidable value bet given the line at 8/1. This young equine is worth consideration. TrackMaster shows formidable trainer stats with 2 year olds. She has been running well and the speed figures are among the best in this field. The winning percentage shown by horses entered by Damato running at this distance are the best in this group of animals. MARIA TALLCHIEF - Must be given a chance as Damato has been among the top trainers with two-year olds. Lately Damato has provided wagerers with a respectable winning percentage with horses racing in turf sprint races.

CAPITAL SPENDING - Stalking speed. My chums and I like this animal. Trainer Abreu moves this horse down the ladder based on class rating points to face a lower class of horses. Look for a strong race in here. Has a decent opportunity to break maiden going over to the dirt in this event. Just check out her most recent speed figure, 73. That one fits in this bunch. GRANADILLA - I like to bet on this angle, a thoroughbred coming back off a strong race within the last month. I like this filly a lot here. She shows a lot of consistency, finishing in the money frequently. I like this filly. Has the highest earnings per start in this contest.

Vulnerable Contenders: #3 CATCHPHRASE (ML=7/5), #5 BLUE SUEDE SUE (ML=8/1), #1 MONETARY MONARCH (ML=8/1),

CATCHPHRASE - Don't think that this filly has value at 7/5 this time around. BLUE SUEDE SUE - Didn't land in the money on August 2nd at Saratoga. Followed it up with another lackluster performance. I find it hard to wager on any thoroughbred in a short distance race at 8/1 when she hasn't shown any successful efforts in sprints in the last sixty days. MONETARY MONARCH - Speed figs of 65/58/48 are headed the wrong direction.

GUEST COMMENTARY: The Brain - GRANADILLA - Getting Lasix for the second time. While getting my PHD at grad school I did a lot of research on this, and my data proves fillys run much better the second time. Could be worth a bet.
