    #2
    Brian W. Spencer's Daily Picks

    Mahoning Valley - Race #2
#3 Remember Me Riser goes off the claim in search of back-to-back scores, and she looks likely to control the pace from the start here. Think the race flow might be manageable enough for her to lead them the whole way.
#2 Forever Uncaptured Hoping the presence of this one might keep the price just playable enough on the top choice. She's fast enough to keep the top choice in her sights early, and it's easy to think these two will settle the score in the lane today.
#1 Express Fashion Finisher isn't horribly overmatched on form, but she typically does her best work from off the pace and might not get the hottest tempo to kick at today.
Race Summary Remember Me and Forever Uncaptured look tough to get around in here, but hoping the former will be just a slightly better price on the board with the pace edge.
    Mahoning Valley - Race #5
#4 Corner Office He has several tables to turn out of that same common race as many of these last out, but that dud wasn't really representative of his better stuff, and a bounce-back effort might keep him in the mix at an OK price.
#5 Wildcat Express He'll flash his customary pace and see if anyone wants to try to hang with him, but he has been proving just a bit vulnerable late and may get caught again today.
#3 Reckless L J Honest type never runs a bad one, and he's got some positional speed that should keep him in the picture while tracking the quicker players early. Lots to like but the price.
Race Summary Corner Office has bounced back from dull runs in the past, so I'm hoping he's ready to get back to his baseline today after a non-effort behind many of these last time out.
    Mahoning Valley - Race #8
#1 Miss Six She hasn't shown any ability to get past horses yet, and she'll likely have to do that if she's going to score today, but I wonder if she might default into a pocket kind of trip behind the speedy chalk while racing fresh today?
#8 It's E Z She got DQ'ed out of a score with similar last time out, and her dangerous speed should have her right in the thick of things while looking to get across the wire first today and keep it that way. Underlaid threat.
#2 Princess Em Not a whole lot else to be afraid of on paper in this one, and her reliable finishing form makes her a threat to get in the mix again. That said, she isn't exactly proving a serious threat while landing those shares, so I'm reluctant to sign on for anything more than that again today.
Race Summary Miss Six might be an OK price, and I'm hoping It's E Z will manage to tow her into the splits from just behind her on the fence.

      #3
      Frank Carulli's Daily Picks

Tampa Bay Downs - Race #1
#4 ITS PIZZA TIME (2-1) Pair of seconds in shorter sprints, can pay off quickly on claim.
#5 MYWIFEHASAGUN (12-1) Fired blank on conventional dirt after useful MSW try on synthetic track.
#6 EL GALAN (6-1) Has good 7F race to summon, got first run on top pair in latest but settled for third.
Race Summary IT’S PIZZA TIME loomed boldly 3-wide but couldn’t reach the 25-1 debut winner. He steps up off the claim and fastest-of-70 workout over the track for his first long sprint attempt. Bet to win and place and play a 4, 5/4, 5, 6/ALL trifecta.
Tampa Bay Downs - Race #3
#7 COMPASS RISES (7-2) Runs for cheapest tag of career, can sustain rally and beat this bunch.
#3 I LOVE VENEZUELA (6-1) Maiden runaway at this level can dictate pace for as far as she goes.
#1 DAME CATHERINE (3-1) Returns to claim level, where she finished in the money twice on turf.
Race Summary COMPASS RISES, first or second in 4 of 13 turf starts, can rally past this field on the class drop in her second start for Dini. She gained 3-wide on the final turn last out but finished behind the three favorites. Bet to win and place and play 7-1 and 7-3 exactas.
Tampa Bay Downs - Race #4
#1 MURUMBI (6-1) Benefitted from dream setup in 7F win off layoff, good value play on class hike.
#3 SALAGADOOLA (9-5) Rallied into fast pace for fourth short-priced win in her last six starts.
#2 CHEM MAJOR (5-2) Won 3 of last 6 routes at Tampa, but has raced only once since April.
Race Summary MURUMBI rallied into a fast pace and reeled in the dueling leader to prevail at 7F on her return to Tampa. She did it off a 2-1/2-month layoff and has plenty of route race experience. She’s worth a win and place bet at 6-1 on the morning line from the rail. Also play 1-2 and 1-3 exactas.

            Race 9 - Allowance - 5.0f on the Dirt. Purse: $72000 Class Rating: 78

FOR REGISTERED NEW MEXICO BRED FILLIES AND MARES THREE YEARS OLD AND UPWARD WHICH HAVE NEVER WON FOUR RACES OR WHICH HAVE NOT WON A RACE SINCE MARCH 18. THREE YEAR OLDS, 121 LBS.; OLDER, 123 LBS.
            RECOMMENDED CHOICES
            # 12 MAMA WAS A ROCKET 4/1
            # 8 MARK THE WINNER 5/2
            # 9 MARQUIS LIGHTS 8/1
I've got to go with MAMA WAS A ROCKET. Reliable average Equibase Speed Figs in dirt sprint races make this racer a contender. Will most likely be one of the early speedsters of the pack going into the midpoint of the affair. With a decent 73 Equibase speed fig last time out, will definitely be a factor in this contest. MARK THE WINNER - The Lasix change (on Lasix) may spark a turnaround for this filly. Earnings per start at the distance/surface is a strong angle. This one ranks at the top in this bunch. MARQUIS LIGHTS - Solid average Equibase Speed Figs in dirt sprint races make this equine a key contender. Is tough not to consider based on Equibase speed figs which have been formidable - 72 avg - of late.

Tampa Bay Downs - Race #2 - Post: 12:55pm - Maiden Claiming - 7.0 furlongs on the Dirt. Purse: $22,000 Class Rating: 65

              Rating:

              #4 ITS PIZZA TIME (ML=2/1)

ITS PIZZA TIME - This gelding earned a nice speed rating of 59 in his last race. That speed rating should be lofty enough to prove victorious today. This campaigner coming off a sharp try in the last thirty days is a contender in my book. The Arnett barn does well with horses off the claim. Just claimed this horse, expect an improvement Another way to judge class is earnings per race. This mount has the highest in the field. I think he'll be close at the finish line.

Vulnerable Contenders: #2 FIT TO FIRE (ML=5/2), #7 EMIRATES HONOR (ML=9/2), #6 EL GALAN (ML=6/1),

FIT TO FIRE - Hasn't been close to winning at all recently. No early speed in this affair to help this closer's hopes. EMIRATES HONOR - Difficult to bet on this questionable contender this time around. Make him show you something in a short distance event before you play him in a race of 7 furlongs. EL GALAN - This entrant ran a pedestrian speed rating last time around the track. He shouldn't improve and will probably lose in today's event running that fig.
STRAIGHT WAGERS: Play #4 ITS PIZZA TIME to win if you can get odds of 1/1 or more

                Parx Racing - Race #6 - Post: 2:20pm - Claiming - 6.5 furlongs on the Dirt. Purse: $21,000 Class Rating: 64

                Rating:

                #2 DARK DUTCHESS (ML=6/1)
                #3 ODE TO EDIE (ML=6/1)
                #4 PAINT ME BEAUTIFUL (ML=9/2)

DARK DUTCHESS - Ran last out against better company at Laurel. The move to a lower class level should suit her well. The 62 latest race speed figure looks mighty good in the TrackMaster PPs. ODE TO EDIE - Carrying 7 pounds less this race. Trainer has her in a good spot. PAINT ME BEAUTIFUL - Jockey hops right back on after getting to know the race horse by riding in the last race. That's always a helpful angle. I like that latest effort on November 20th at Parx Racing where she ended up first. Have to like the way Lake has raced this filly back into shape off the layoff. Horse is well spotted in this sprint and I think she'll run well today.

                Vulnerable Contenders: #8 NAMORA (ML=3/1), #1 HYACINTH BUCKET (ML=4/1), #12 STELLA D'AMORE (ML=6/1),

NAMORA - The probable favorite is shaky here with the lack of morning blow outs. HYACINTH BUCKET - A strong thoroughbred that's been running well, but she's been off the track in the mornings recently. Only thumped maiden claimers in the last race. It's going to be very tough for this thoroughbred to repeat versus winners. Doubtful that the speed fig she registered on November 5th will be enough in this contest. STELLA D'AMORE - Run-of-the-mill speed rating last time around the track at Mountaineer Park at 5 1/2 furlongs. Don't think this less than sharp equine will improve too much today.
STRAIGHT WAGERS: Play #2 DARK DUTCHESS to win if you can get odds of 5/2 or more

Race 8 - Maiden Claiming - 5.5f on the Dirt. Purse: $15000 Class Rating: 58

FOR MAIDENS, FILLIES AND MARES THREE YEARS OLD AND UPWARD. THREE YEAR OLDS, 124 LBS.; OLDER, 125 LBS. CLAIMING PRICE $10,000.

                  # 6 PELOSI 6/1
                  # 10 ROCK TUNE 6/1
I've got to go with CASTASPELLA. Could provide positive dividends based on respectable recent Equibase speed figs with an average of 59. Looks very strong versus this group and will probably be one of the early speedsters. Should be considered - I like the figures from the last contest.
