Turfway Park - Race #7

#14 Adios Kid	He'll need some scratches to draw in, but I think he's plenty playable if he gets to go. There is absolutely no finishing form on paper in this race, and he has at least plugged past a couple horses throughout his career. I'll bite if he goes.
#8 Halter Boy	Nothing from him so far, but both of those starts came with much better groups, and his versatile pedigree might help him feel at home over the synthetic footing. Price for a piece in a bad race?
#11 Stunning Bruno	His better stuff is in line with what it might take to land this, but he has given away ground in the stretch call of every career race, so I'm not too thrilled to see if that's going to change today.
Race Summary	Adios Kid is interesting if he's able to get into this one, and I'll otherwise give a super low-confidence look to Halter Boy at what should be a solid price.

Turfway Park - Race #1

#2 Saki Bomb	He ran OK in the sprint debut before that flat route run sent him for a quick break, so the cutback today while a bit fresh could work in his favor. Midrange price chance.
#4 Oh and Gee	Get a look at this one on the tote and track ahead of this, but I wonder if he might be ready enough to make a little noise right out of the box at a reasonable level.
#9 Memphis Slim	Plenty of other places to go looking for logical players in this one, but this one debuts for a tough Ward team that probably has him pegged pretty well on talent. Wouldn't surprise.
Race Summary	Saki Bomb gets in for a tag today after a no-show route effort at second asking at Presque Isle Downs. I like the way he finished up when sprinting in the career debut, and maybe he'll get back to something like that while dropping and turning back.

Turfway Park - Race #5

#10 Smokin Hot Blonde	She has shown some mild finishing ability on the turf through two starts, and that kind of style might play well over the local footing. Think she's in the mix here.
#1 Jerseys Parade	She's still a big question on class after turning in her first decent effort with cheaper last time out, but that was also her first local start, so I'm willing to take it at face value and give her a chance to run back to it against this better crew.
#9 Lady Go Go	Her sprint debut could set her up for something better while stretching out today, but I worry she's going to get overbet against what feels like an interesting group.
Race Summary	#3 High Shot might win this without a ton of trouble, but I worry the price will get too short as she's getting short on excuses.

Her path to the winners’ circle could go through her uncoupled stablemates. Bet to win and place and play a 5,7/1,5,7 exacta.

Turf Paradise - Race #4

#9 EARTHLY TIGER (8-1)	Right set-up, right price on return to maiden-breaking level and distance.
#1 WAR ON THE WEST (6-1)	Has speed and the rail and drops below his level of recent claim.
#3 WITHOUT EQUAL (6-1)	Class drop, added ground in second start off layoff could work well.
Race Summary	EARTHLY TIGER broke his maiden at one mile on the Emerald Downs main track, then was a non-factor in a 5F turf sprint on his return to Turf Paradise. He should sit a good stalking trip with plenty of pace to rally into if he can avoid a wide trip from the outside. Bet to win and place and play a 1-3-9 exacta box.

IRISH HOKIE - Has performed soundly lately in sprint races, posting a nifty 73 avg Equibase speed fig. Is a definite contender - given the 78 speed figure from his most recent race. TOWN OF GUAYNABO - Has a very solid record at the distance and surface, which makes me have to support this colt. Morales has him trained well to break rapidly out of the starting gate.

SIGN AND SEAL - Faced tougher in the last race at Presque Isle Downs. Based on Equibase class ratings, this is a weaker field, so I will put this animal on my list of contenders. ORBIT MARS - You have to consider the solid works of late. Out of the money finish last time around the track at Mountaineer Park was better than it looked on paper. She improved position in the lane and never gave up. YOGURT - This thoroughbred should be rocking and rolling down the stretch. KINGSTON TIME - The Nov 11th event at Mountaineer Park was at a class level of (78). Dropping down the class ladder considerably, so she should be in a good spot. Don't throw this animal out due to her last contest at Mountaineer Park where she finished seventh on a track listed as good. Should improve this time around.

Vulnerable Contenders: #1 BAREBACK FUN (ML=9/5), #4 HOT CAROL (ML=3/1),

BAREBACK FUN - The Brain cautions me to keep away from horses in short distance affairs that haven't finished in the money in sprint contests lately. Don't think this mount will do much running today. That last speed rating was most unsatisfactory when compared with today's class rating. HOT CAROL - Finished second in her most recent performance with a run-of-the-mill speed figure. When I look at today's Equibase class figure, it would take an improved performance to triumph after that in this bunch. A 'strong performance bounce' is likely to happen for this horse today. May rebound next time.
