Analysis: This selection is still a play despite the postponement to Thursday. Every Sportsbook has different rules so please ensure your wager is valid and that you do not need to replace that wager. 5% (274) GEORGIA -1 No Carson Beck for Georgia, and the betting market has overreacted to the injury. Georgia was able to squeak out a 22-19 overtime win over Texas in the SEC Championship but only had 16 points in the game at the end of regulation without Beck. Two things to point out about that game are that although Georgia struggled to move the ball with Gunner Stockton as QB, you have to remember that Texas has one of the best defenses in the country, if not the best. Additionally, the backup was forced into action and had to come in cold. Remember, the starter gets most of the snaps in practice, and the backup, if called upon, has to run a game plan that was devised for the other QB. Now that Kirby Smart has said all along that Beck wouldn’t be able to play, Stockton has gotten all the reps in practice, and they will have a game plan that is tailor-made for his strengths. Georgia also has the advantage of the element of surprise, as there isn’t a lot of game film on Stockton this year, so Notre Dame really doesn’t know what to prepare for. This is, in my opinion, a big advantage for the Georgia coaching staff. Georgia has had 3+ weeks to prepare for nothing but Notre Dame, while Notre Dame was playing a game last week against Indiana. Georgia has played the tougher schedule and has more big-game experience than Notre Dame has in recent years, as Georgia was back-to-back defending champs 2 and 3 years ago. Last year, they just missed getting into the playoffs, and many thought had they made it, they may have achieved the three-peat. GEORGIA 31-23. TAKE GEORGIA as my 5% BOWL MAJOR WAGER
