Philadelphia would qualify in a home momentum situation, which is 31-11-0 if they are favored by seven or less. They would also qualify in a fundamental rushing situation, which is 544-396-8 if they are favored by seven or less. Numbers favor Philly by 7 points and predict about 46 points. Philadelphia’s offense is very dynamic, as we saw again last week in their destruction of Dallas. The Bears played at NO earlier this week and couldn’t keep up with the Saints. They’ll have to do that this week if they wish to cover or win this game. In that Saints game, they lost 30-13. Against the Lions, they again had trouble scoring, posting only 13 points again, while allowing 24 points. As good as their defense can be, they have allowed 30, 27, 29 and 24 points to the four good offensive teams they have played this year – NO, GB, Carolina and Detroit. They have scored only 13 points in each of their true road games – game in London was on a neutral field. They only scored 17 points against GB. Philadelphia stands a very good to get to at least 27 points in this game. Based on what Chicago has done so far this year that will make it very tough for them to cover. If this line moves down to –7 I will make Philadelphia a best bet. PHILADELPHIA 30 CHICAGO 17

We should thank the Cowboys for this one. Think about it. What would this line have been prior to Philly’s Sunday night dismantling of the enigmatic Cowboys? Four? Maybe five? Now we’re being handed a slew of extra points with a rested Bears team that had won two-straight and appeared quite solid in doing so. Chicago’s Cover-2 defensive scheme and strong linebacking corps will not allow receivers to roam freely as they did against Dallas. Philadelphia’s defense has been susceptible to top-tier running backs and none is more versatile than Chicago’s Matt Forte. This is a huge overreaction to the “Dream Team” finally getting off the mattress and putting a whipping on somebody. Not that the Bears need any more motivation but this line is a big insult to them and you can be damn sure they’ll have a response. This is a ridiculous line based on one strong win by Philadelphia and an upset would not surprise one bit. Play: Chicago +8 (Risking 2.2 units to win 2).
