                    Sean Murphy

Sunday CBB Free play. My selection is on Michigan minus the points (-9.5 -108) over Northwestern at 12 noon ET on Sunday.

Michigan enters this contest looking to rebound after a surprising upset loss as a double-digit road favorite against Minnesota on Thursday. That defeat snapped an impressive five-game SU and ATS winning streak for the Wolverines. I expect them to respond in a big way on Sunday as they return home, where they've been a far more consistent team this season.

Northwestern, meanwhile, snapped a three-game losing streak with an upset win at home against Maryland on Thursday. While that was an encouraging result, the Wildcats have struggled to maintain momentum this season, particularly when stepping up in class. Despite facing a difficult slate of opponents, Northwestern has not fared as well as Michigan, which has also endured a tough schedule yet still boasts the superior record.

Look for the Wolverines to capitalize on home-court advantage and deliver a decisive victory as they aim to get back on track.

Take Michigan. Projected score: Michigan 74, Northwestern 60.

                      Jack Jones

Jack's Free Pick Sunday: Philadelphia Eagles -6.5

The Philadelphia Eagles are the most complete team in the NFC. Amazingly, they had all 22 starters from Week 1 available in the Wild Card Round last week. They did lose LB Nakobe Dean to a season-ending injury in their 22-10 win over the Packers, but fortunately for them LB is one of the deepest positions on their roster.

The Eagles have quietly gone 13-1 SU & 10-4 ATS in their last 14 games overall. In the only game they lost, Jalen Hurts got injured early against the Commanders in a 36-33 defeat on the road. Their defense is elite allowing 20 points or fewer in 12 of their last 14 games during this stretch. Their offense has taken off since both AJ Brown and Devonta Smith returned to the lineup after a Week 5 bye. They have scored at least 24 points in 10 of their last 13 games, and one game they didn't was in Week 18 when they rested their starters and started a 3rd-string QB.

I was on the Rams +2.5 as a 25* play last week over the Vikings. They took advantage of a Minnesota team that was limping into the postseason after going 'all in' against Detroit in Week 18. They also got to face Sam Darnold at his worst behind a terrible offensive line. The Rams took advantaged and sacked Darnold nine times.

But now this weak Los Angeles defense will get exposed against what is one of the best offensive lines in football in the Eagles. We saw this matchup already with the Eagles winning 37-20 in Los Angeles on November 24th. The Eagles gained 481 total yards on the Rams including 314 rushing, while holding them to 290 yards and outgaining them by nearly 200 yards.

With the forecast calling for nearly a 100% chance of snow and rain and temps in the 30's Sunday in Philadelphia, the team that runs the football better is going to have a big advantage. That team is going to be the Eagles in this matchup and it's not even close. Philadelphia should get whatever it wants on the ground and wear down this undersized Los Angeles defense as the game goes on.

I love Matthew Stafford as much as anyone, but this isn't the game for him. Stafford is 1-8 SU in his career outdoors in rain or snow. He is completing just 54.6% of his passes with a 14-to-11 TD/INT ratio in those nine games. He struggled in his lone outdoor game this season in the elements in New York. The Rams had to outscore the Jets 13-0 in the 4th quarter to win 19-9. Los Angeles managed just 242 total yards in that game, and Stafford threw for just 110 yards in the win. It's not going to go well for Stafford and company in the elements against arguably the best secondary in the NFL. Bet the Eagles Sunday.

The Horizon League Comp play is on Wisconsin Milwaukee at 3 eastern minus the points (-6.5).
There is a nice system in this game that plays against Road dogs like Robert Morris that are off a road favored win scoring 85 or more and a prior home vs an opponent off a home win. The Host team has won all 7 meetings in this relatively new a conference matchup. Milwaukee is a top 20 rebounding team and has better offensive and defensive numbers. Look for Wisconsin Milwaukee to cover. Rob V-
