Notre Dame can move the ball on offense with veteran QB Riley Leonard and the 1-2 running back combo of Jeremiyah Love and Jadarian Price. The Irish have good receivers who can make plays. The trouble for the Irish is that their offensive line won’t hold up against the ferocious Buckeyes front seven. Ohio State shuts down the run, and their secondary will be able to slow down the Irish passing game enough to take control. Ohio State has a veteran QB of its own in Will Howard and has their own 1-2 punch at running back with Quinshon Judkins and TreVeyon Henderson. Ohio State has a lot of team speed at receiver, and its offensive line is more reliable than Notre Dame’s. The Irish played a much weaker schedule and had favorable matchups in the playoff season. The Irish will miss key contributors like Rylie Mills and Benjamin Morrison, who should be high NFL draft selections. It’s hard to win a title without them. The key to this game is the NFL talent on the Ohio State defensive line. Players like Jack Sawyer, Tyleik Williams, and JT Tuimoloau will force a play or two that will completely change the direction of this game. Take Ohio State.
