    Brian W. Spencer's Daily Picks

    Mahoning Valley - Race #4
#5 Solo Surprise A couple other potential forward players could keep things honest, but I feel like there is a chance this one can prove quickest early and shake off what other speed there is while sticking around better at second asking? Might be playable enough.
#3 Josie's Girl Cutback player has some route pace to work with, but I worry she's going to be a bit outrun in the early stages and could wind up with a touch too much to do.
#6 Lovebug Her local debut was solid enough last time around, and she finished in front of the top choice that day behind an easy winner.
Race Summary Solo Surprise was a distant third in a short group at first asking, but there is probably some upside here with pace that might be a bit more dangerous this time around.
    Mahoning Valley - Race #7
#8 Mobil Chic She's a pretty honest finisher and meets a couple of potential forward types who can keep the tempo fair enough. Don't think she's overmatched with this open crew.
#2 Starlight Love She wouldn't be any surprise in her local debut, but she wasn't exactly cruising in her other races in Ohio in the past, so I wouldn't want too short a price just because she's coming in from Churchill.
#5 Mobil Lady Tactical speed has been solid in her local route tries, and she should be able to get the jump on the top choice while racing just in behind the more committed pace types.
Race Summary Mobil Chic looks the part while trying this open allowance spot, and I'm hoping the price will stay playable enough with an OK race shape looming for her.
    Mahoning Valley - Race #8
#8 Officially Yours Think this is a pretty deep race for the level, and she is one of the players while likely getting a good trip tracking the speed. Fun race, slight edge.
#1 Banana Pudding Wouldn't argue with anyone trying to treat her as a free space in here -- she might cruise. But the price figures to be short, and as mentioned, I don't think this is a particularly soft spot for an Ohio-bred allowance like this.
#2 Az We Speak She's pretty game and has a consistent string of solid running lines to her name right now, and she might work out an OK trip while tucked in behind the speed.
Race Summary Officially Yours might be able to get a slight jump on a couple of the other logical threats, and I'm hoping the presence of the rail runner will keep the price interesting.

      Frank Carulli's Daily Picks

Tampa Bay Downs - Race #1
#2 GUAIO (5-1) In good form cycle, gets in light-weighted, moves outside in.
#6 C SUITE BOY (3-1) Added blinkers, romped in local debut, enters new barn.
#4 SNOWNAME (5-2) Speed will be tested off seven-month layoff, workouts encouraging.
Race Summary GUAIO appears rounding to a good effort and a good price. He circled 4-wide from post 12 two starts back in a turf route won by the favorite, then he dueled outside the winner from mid-turn to mid-stretch when second at 7F last out. Bet to win and place and play 2-4 and 2-6 exactas.
Tampa Bay Downs - Race #3
#3 CLASSY DISPOSITION (5-2) Looked like winner at top of lane but was overtaken late in same spot.
#7 FAR ABOVE (12-1) Hit board in 5 of 8 on Tampa lawn, needs some pace flow.
#10 FOREVER AGAIN (7-2) Flattened out in mid-stretch in well-bet try for $25,000.
Race Summary CLASSY DISPOSITION, wide throughout from the widest post position, ranged up boldly on her own courage through the final turn but was out-kicked late as the favorite. She need only to improve some in her second start since October to reach the winners’ circle. Bet to win and place and play a 3/7, 10/ALL trifecta.
Tampa Bay Downs - Race #4
#6 SUPREME DOMINANCE (5-2) Earned top speed fig in defeat, projects good trip on class drop.
#4 BREADMAN (6-1) Speed mission backfired, can rate, drops below claim level, offers value.
#8 LEAD OFF (7-2) Checked and steadied on first turn, hard-ridden throughout, got up for second.
Race Summary Gulfstream Park class-dropper SUPREME DOMINANCE rates a slight edge in a deep $5,000 claiming race in which nine entrants are a combined 230/38-26-38 with average earnings of $114k. He was bumped at the start on a sloppy track last out at one mile, pressed the pace 4-wide and drifted in the stretch. He should sit an ideal stalking trip in here. Bet to win and place and play 6-4, 6-8 and 4-6 exactas.
