Fair Grounds - Race #6

#8 Candy Bar	She stayed well after showing the way early in that last one on the main, but she has more proven form from off the pace, so the presence of some other speed in here doesn't feel like a huge concern. Dangerous.
#9 Mo Shiro	She's capable of something a bit better, but it has been a few races since she was able to flash her best, and maybe the additional freshening over the new year did her some good.
#7 Just the Sky	Wouldn't argue too hard with anyone landing here for a capable team, but her lack of early speed can be an issue for her. On the scene late.
Race Summary	Candy Bar might be able to find a decent trip while tracking from close range, and that should give her the jump on the deeper finishing threats.

Fair Grounds - Race #7

#8 Awree	She was no threat when a distant second behind that easy winner last out, but that was an encouraging effort on the class hike while racing fresh, and some reasonable upside today makes her a player second off the bench.
#3 Pretty Prairie	She has pretty reliable form, but she came up short at 6/5 last time out and figures to take her share of cash again today. Don't think this is the deepest spot she has seen, so she might drill these.
#1 Spicy Mustard	She has made a couple of mild middle moves over at Delta, but she might be able to sustain one of those moves a bit better while getting back around one turn today. Some price appeal for a piece.
Race Summary	Awree has was far back behind the winner of her last, but she was racing off the long break that day and has some room to come forward with that one under her belt.

Fair Grounds - Race #8

#4 Aunt Becca	She'll get over to the turf while racing for just the second time since last March, and she has the kind of positional pace to find a good first-jump run with these if she likes the new footing.
#5 Richies Princess	Respect what this team can do with a dangerous speed player, and she's already running into that nice New York pedigree. Threat from the start.
#6 Rue Lala	She has been landing some underneath shares in those recent runs, but I expect that something similar is probably her ceiling with this crew. Shares.
Race Summary	Aunt Becca has had a couple of tricky trips in those running lines at the top of her page, and she might be in a perfect spot to land this if she's ready to roll off the September break.

#7 QUICK TEMPO (8-5)	Good first gear, good post, loves to win, but lost 2 of 3 since voided claim.
#3 DEE JAY (5-2)	Has loyal following and a 6-13 record at Penn National despite no wins since June.
Race Summary	MR. MARSHALL ‘tossed his head about leaving the gate’ and gave way to the deep closers in mid-stretch on his return to conventional dirt. But he was in peak form prior to his arrival in the U.S., with two easy wire-to-wire wins off the claim and his top two speed figures. He’s worth a win and place bet at an inflated price.

#3 SANSA ARIEL (8-1)	Model of consistency in sprints, in good form for new barn, value remains.
#1 RIBOT’S VALENTINE (6-	Popped on the class drop for new barn, can repeat at proven distance.

Race Summary	SANSA ARIEL advanced 4-wide into the stretch but was steadied in between rivals at the 1/8th pole before the top pair passed by. She led at every call in the race prior off the claim despite breaking in the air. Bet to win and place and play a 1,3/1,3,5,6/ALL trifecta.

#3 DANCING CHIME (5-2)	Takes magnified class drop, figures tough in 4-year-old seasonal debut.
#7 CITY OF LONDON (7-2)	Upgraded to win after seven straight in-money finishes on the main track.
#2 FLORALOATS (8-1)	Front-end win for new connections two back, gets blinkers tonight.
Race Summary	DANCING CHIME was blocked in mid-stretch when she finished in a dead heat in her maiden-breaking win for a $25,000 tag three starts back. She was no factor against much better company in her last two starts but should be able to run past this field. Bet to win and place and play 3-2 and 3-7 exactas.

3^rd race [NY, Alw 76000 N1X, 1 mi] – (3) Princess Becca finished first or second in five of her last six starts moving from starter allowances to her first try in a NY-bred allowance. (4) Grace Reformed won her last two starts at Parx Racing in a low-level claimer and a starter allowance and has been off since November. (6) Monetary Monarch broke her maiden three weeks ago by more than nine lengths. (5) Brooklyn Dantz has a pair of third-place finishes at this allowance level.

4^th race [OC45k/N1X, 1 1/8 mi] – (3) Fade to Grey had the lead and finished second by a neck two races back in a similar spot. (4) Points Is Points was third in January in a first-level allowance. (2) La Vita Sofia was second and a winner in recent starter allowances. (5) Brown Suga Babe won through the NY-bred allowance conditions in the fall and has since run twice in first allowance level against open company.

5^th race [OC80k/C, 1 mi – (3) Yo Daddy won two out of his last three starts, both by a neck, in the first two allowance conditions. (1) Tabeguache won at today’s top allowance level two races back and then tried a nine-furlong stakes race. (6) Repo Rocks drops out of a series of stakes races and is $6,000 shy of $1 million in career earnings. (4) Winit was claimed for $80,000 in November when he had the lead and lost by a nose. Last time he had a poor start and now gets blinkers on.

6^th race [Clm 32000, 7F] – (3) Royal Tryst (B) came back from an 11 month layoff and closed well from last to finish second. (1) Natural Harbor is in top form with top three finishes in high price claimers and a starter allowance. (5) Commerce Comet has been competing with Natural Harbor in recent races. (2) Legal Deal was claimed from his last three starts with the January race which he won being a $20,000 voided claim.

CHROME BABY - As long as Pedroza keeps this racer off the pace, I have to believe this one could be a winner. In the last race, finished fifth on a track listed as good at Fair Grounds. Will most certainly do better in today's race. RELEASE MCCRAKEN - The rider and trainer combination have a lucrative return on investment when they join forces. Personally, I wouldn't worry about where he finished in his last race (fourth). Should improve right here, with some decent odds. Look for this gelding to show lots better right here. Last event at Fair Grounds finishing fourth on a track listed as good is no indication of his true talent.

Vulnerable Contenders: #6 EMBER (ML=7/2), #7 GILMORE (ML=4/1), #3 TIGER MOON (ML=4/1),

EMBER - I have some doubts when a entrant has bandages added in the last contest. Could be tough for this entrant to beat this group off of that last speed rating. Not probable to improve enough to run a figure close to today's Equibase class figure, so put him on the likely underlays list. GILMORE - The result of ninth in the last race shows me that this animal may be getting out of condition. Most unsatisfactory speed rating last time around the track at Turfway Park at 1 mile. ABUNDANT LOVE - Comparing how the horses in this field have fared under similar conditions, I see this one has the highest speed rating for the distance and surface. This thoroughbred may have too much power on the grass for the rest of the field. Coming home, she could put these away. A repeat of that latest race on January 9th where she notched a figure of 77 looks good enough to prove victorious in this race. LINDSAY SMILES - Lasix can take some getting used to, especially for a filly. They usually hit stride the 2nd time using it, like we have with this horse.
