    Turfway Park - Race #3 - Post: 6:55pm - Maiden Claiming - 8.0 furlongs on the Dirt. Purse: $18,500 Class Rating: 71

    Rating:

    #2 HERE'S GRACIE (ML=2/1)

HERE'S GRACIE - This jock and conditioner's horses have been generating a profitable ROI. My expertise says this is the lone stalker in the race. Faced tougher last out at Turfway Park. Based on class figures, this is a weaker group, so I will put this horse on my list of choice plays.

Vulnerable Contenders: #3 UNDER AGREEMENT (FR) (ML=3/1), #6 EVERY LOVING WISH (ML=9/2), #5 BRINY BREEZES (ML=5/1),

UNDER AGREEMENT (FR) - 71/52/45, are the decreasing speed figures for this runner. This pony ran a mediocre speed rating last time around the track. She shouldn't run better and will likely suffer defeat today running that rating. EVERY LOVING WISH - Didn't end up on the board on January 17th after the very long layoff. Be doubtful of this animal this time around. BRINY BREEZES - Looked like she may have had some physical problems when she ran on January 4th. This steed didn't do much last time finishing seventh. No reason to expect any change today.

GUEST COMMENTARY: Hal - HERE'S GRACIE - This filly has the best last speed figure at Turfway Park. Must be considered in your speculating.

STRAIGHT WAGERS: Bet on #2 HERE'S GRACIE to win if we can get at least 1/1 odds
    EXACTA WAGERS: 2 with [5,8]
    TRIFECTA WAGERS: None
    SUPERFECTA WAGERS: Pass

      # 9 WHAT CHEER 10/1
      # 2 STARZZNSTRIPES 5/1
      # 8 CENALTA TOKEN 12/1
WHAT CHEER is the clear stand out bet in the eyes of the consortium may be overlooked at 10/1 on the line. With better than average win figures, Roland should have this mare in excellent position to win the gathering. Great return on investment from the Cal-Expo 9 hole, watch out for this live one. STARZZNSTRIPES - Could provide us a score based on really strong recent TrackMaster SRs - earning an average of 76. Seems to have a very good class advantage based on the opponents she has raced against. CENALTA TOKEN - Pace ratings fit the bias well here at Cal-Expo, look for this one to get the triumph.

        # 7 RED N READY 7/2
        # 3 SINGING RAMONA 2/1
        # 2 SKYS LITTLE SPUNK 6/1
We've got an instinct RED N READY is going to get the top prize. Has good speed ratings and quite possibly has to be considered for a bet in here. With a 72 average class number, this fine animal has one of the best class edges in the field. With a really strong 69 speed rating last time out, will unquestionably be a factor in this race. SINGING RAMONA - The knowledge group always likes a proven performer. This horse's high winning stat is confirmation of that. Is a bang-up win contender given the 65 speed figure from her most recent race. SKYS LITTLE SPUNK - Looks like a strong selection in this field of horses and her successful winning percentage says she has the determination to end up in the winner's circle for this race.

NBA (513) UTAH JAZZ VS (514) PHOENIX SUNS

Take: (514) PHOENIX SUNS The Phoenix Suns (25-25) host the Utah Jazz (12-37) on Friday, February 7, 2025, at the Footprint Center in Phoenix. The Suns are looking to snap a three-game losing streak, which includes back-to-back losses to the Portland Trail Blazers. Currently, Phoenix is tied for the 10th spot in the Western Conference with the Warriors, sitting just ahead of the 11th-place Spurs. Their biggest issue during this slump has been defense, allowing an average of 129.3 points per game.

Utah has shown some signs of life, winning two of their last three games, though both victories came at home. The road has been a different story, as the Jazz have lost six straight away games.

Key Players to Watch for the Suns: Devin Booker: Averaging 26.0 points per game this season.
Key Players for the Utah Jazz: Walker Kessler: Leading the Jazz with 11.0 points and 11.6 rebounds per game.

Utah’s road struggles make this a must-win game for Phoenix, especially if they hope to solidify their playoff position. Given the Suns’ need for a bounce-back performance, this is a game they should take care of at home. Play Phoenix.

The Clippers are coming off a 122-97 home loss to the Los Angeles Lakers, their second straight defeat. Norman Powell was the team's top scorer with 20 points, but overall, the Clippers struggled, shooting 38.2% from the floor and 29.3% from three-point range.

Pascal Siakam leads Indiana with 20.5 points and 7.3 rebounds per game, while Tyrese Haliburton adds 18.2 points and 8.5 assists per contest, though he was held scoreless in his last outing. For Los Angeles, Norman Powell is averaging 24.1 points per game, providing consistent scoring. James Harden contributes 21.6 points and 8.4 assists per game, while Kawhi Leonard, averaging 16.4 points, has had difficulty finding his shot in recent games.

Statistically, the Pacers rank 10th in the NBA in scoring, averaging 115.6 points per game, while the Clippers rank 23rd with 110 points per game. On defense, the Clippers are among the league’s best, allowing just 107.5 points per game, ranking third. The Pacers, on the other hand, allow 115 points per game, ranking 21st in the league.

Both teams are looking to bounce back from losses, but Indiana has been strong as a road underdog, winning seven of its last eight in that role. The Clippers have struggled against Central Division teams with winning records, dropping seven of their last eight Thursday games under these conditions. Given the trends and recent performances, Indiana is the better play here, and a straight-up Pacers win wouldn’t be surprising. Take Indiana in this matchup.
