Santa Anita - Race #1

#3 Simplexity	Liked his last a bit more watching it back than I did at first glance late last year, and I think he'll be in line for a great trip while stretching back out. The question mark around the trip might help keep the price playable.
#8 Agency	He'll be able to flash some pace from the outside draw while getting around two turns, and the class relief should also give him a chance to find something better.
#1 Baldoro	He's got pretty reliable form that fits well with this group, but I just worry the price will end up on the short side in a race where there are a couple of reasonable alternatives.
Race Summary	Simplexity looked good winning that last one and should be in a perfect first-over kind of spot while getting to this route run.

Santa Anita - Race #2

#1 Bolt on the Rocks	She's quick enough to find a good spot from the fence in this small group, and maybe she ends up as a mildly playable second choice today?
#3 Running Super	Think this one is pretty top heavy between these two, and she also has the right kind of positional pace to stay in touch throughout in the compact bunch.
#4 Petite Ange	She's actually not overmatched in here by a whole lot, but I worry that she'll give a decent jump to the top pair while turning back off that turf route.
Race Summary	Bolt on the Rocks has some appeal with these after staying well enough behind an easy winner last time out. Her form is solid enough for a runner at this level, and I expect she'll bring a typical effort.

Santa Anita - Race #9

#3 Vantastic	He's a good fit with this crew, and he's one of the more honest turf routers in a spot that has some players who might be a touch better going short.
#9 Yacowlef	He's a reliable enough finisher, but I think his late kick might be a bit more effective at those sprint trips, and he could flatten out just enough late here to spin his wheels and settle for a share.
#4 Terry's Boy	Tactical speed should be in the right spot heading into the far turn, but I have the same concern here as with Yacowlef...I think his very best stuff comes at a trip shorter than this.
Race Summary	Vantastic looks like one of the truer routers in this spot, and that may count for something in a race with a lot of capable sprint types who tend to nibble underneath when they stretch out.

3^rd race [NY, Clm 25000 N1X, 7F] – (3) Montebello (B) raced wide on an inside favoring track and finished second well clear of the rest. (4) That’s Money was claimed for $16,000 last time when he was a winner and moves back to face NY-breds. (1) Horse Be With You returns from a five-month layoff and drops in class moving back to state-bred competition. (5) Brew Pub raced against tougher competition in his last two starts.

5^th race [Clm 25000 N2L, 6 ? F] – (3) Justheart (B) raced six wide on a track that had a strong inside bias, finished second, and got claimed. (4) She’s Always Rosie came back from a five-month layoff, set the pace, and finished second in a $40,000 race. (2) Be Inspired raced at Laurel Park in her four starts with a debut win in a maiden special weight and then four allowances. Blinkers go on. (6) Dat Dares Right ran the best race of her career last month when she improved to finish second.

6^th race [Clm 16000B, 7F] – (6) Thank You Jon (B) broke slowly and got what a NY handicapper described as a “strange ride”, finished third, and was claimed. (1) I See You Lookin drops back to the $16,000 claiming level at which he broke his maiden and won the N2L condition. (2) Badlands Ruler was a winner for the second time a year ago at this claiming price. (3) King Khali is a past maiden special weight winner.

8^th race [OC50k/SAL50k, 1 mi] – (4) Ada May (A) lost irons at the start, got far behind, and rallied to finish second. (8) Heavenly Light moved from a $50,000 maiden claiming win to run second at this starter allowance level. (6) Helen’s Revenge moved from Oaklawn Park where she broke her maiden and then tried a stakes race to join the barn of Linda Rice. (3) Timia beat NY-breds in a maiden special weight and tried the first-level allowance twice.

Franco will almost certainly be able to get this mare to break out early in here.

This speedball should be aided by today's shorter trip.
