Fair Grounds - Race #1

#3 Knock'em Out Jerry	His cutback pace is sharp enough to force the issue while turning back, but I wonder if maybe the route-to-sprint move will help him manage some other early pace while staying on better today. Dropper should score.
#1 Kinsman Redeemer	He was a better fit when trying this level last out, but I have a mild worry about him finding a trip from the inside with some positional pace that probably isn't quite serious enough to have a go for it from the fence.
#5 Wholeheartedly	He has been going a bit evenly in his sprint races, so I have some concern that he'll idle a bit late for a share at most, especially while adding the top choice to his list of foes today.
Race Summary	Knock'em Out Jerry finds an easier spot today while cutting back off a decent effort. Mild red flag there for me while going second off the break, but I think he's the right one if he's got anything to show still.

Fair Grounds - Race #7

#6 English Chunnel	He ran fine when a distant third on the dirt when racing fresh last out, but he's got some upside in the second start off the bench while getting back over to the turf. He ran in a couple OK special weight spots in Kentucky last year on the turf.
#9 Initialize	He loomed before just going flat in that run here back in November, but he might come back with something just a bit better after this short freshening. Wouldn't surprise, but not 100% sure the risk/reward number will be there on the board.
#2 King Rosso	Think his better stuff is competitive with these, and he might be in a good spot to track the pace and get the jump on the deeper closing threats.
Race Summary	English Chunnel has enough appeal with a couple interesting names in his company lines, upside in the second start off the layoff, and the move back to the lawn. I'd take something shorter than the 6/1 ML offering.

Fair Grounds - Race #8

#8 Maximum Grace	They'll cut the price tag after racing for four times this number last out, and this feels like a spot in which she'll prove more competitive. Can bounce back.
#3 Bobby Two Shots	He was well meant when dropping for the score last time out, and he should be in line for another good spying trip with this bunch. Can win right back at this reasonable level.
#9 Lost My Bag	Wonder if he's just a touch better with a target, so the draw moving him further outside probably doesn't hurt today. Competitive today.
Race Summary	Maximum Grace drops in after trying a tougher group in his first start with winners, and I'm hoping Bobby Two Shots takes just enough cash to keep the price tolerable.

Race Summary	FAST TALKIN MAN broke last from the rail in MSW company on a sloppy track at Miami Valley. He moved quickly into a ground-saving spot in third, checked near the quarter pole and was in tight at the eighth pole. He finished third but can upgrade to a win with a better start. He was shuffled back in his prior start at Laurel Park, a race that produced an allowance runner-up and $45k maiden claiming winner. Bet to win and place and play a 1,5/1, 2, 3, 5/ALL trifecta.

#1 SQUARE SLICE (5-2)	Packs late kick, kept quality company as a 3yo, long layoff the question.
#3 TWICE GOLD (10-1)	Five-wide and in range on backstretch at one mile, sheds 14 pounds.
#2 MALIBLUE (9-2)	Carried speed on speed-favoring track at 5-1/2F, can use it well again.
Race Summary	SQUARE SLICE is working forwardly for his return from an 11-month layoff. He rallied for second in the same spot at Laurel Park and his opponents in seven starts thus far combined to go 49/9-7-9 in their next start. Bet to win and place and play 1-2, 1-3 and 3-1 exactas.

4^th race [Clm 16000 N2L, 1 1/8 mi] – (3) Brown Don’t Stop ran second and third at this claiming condition and has three very good races at the challenging nine-furlong distance. (4) D Day Sky will drop down to the lowest level of his career after running well for the $25,000 tag. (1) Taparino rallied from the back of the field to win a $20,000 maiden claimer by four lengths. (7) Ollie Can Dance is a late runner to use underneath in this field with long odds.

5^th race [Clm 16000B, 6F] – (3) Perfect Flight was third and then second at this dual claiming condition of N3L and N1Y. (2) Zeebear has been off since August and drops out of a series of second-level allowances for NY-breds. (5) Aleah Aleah has early speed and used it to win the N2L condition by more than two lengths after opening up a big early lead. (1) I See You Lookin won two races in a row in the fall at Aqueduct and was third two weeks ago.

7^th race [OC62k/N2X, 6F] – (5) Toxic Gray (A) raced wide on a speed favoring track and finished third. (3) Crazy Mason returned from a six month layoff to run fourth and then won the first-level allowance with a bold late rally. (6) Victory Way returned from a long layoff to run an excellent second and then did not appreciate the stretch-out to a mile. (1) Scoot Daddy moved to a New York barn with plenty of back races that would make him a contender.

8^th race [NY, Md Sp Wt, 7F] – (9) Grand Cash (A) was ready to compete for the win in his first start for a low-profile trainer. He raced wide, was herded in the stretch, and ran on. (1) Have a Cigar ran the best race of his career when second in January and now gets Lasix for the first-time. (7) Recurring Revenue is a first-time starter for Chad Brown and Klaravich Stables. (4) Tiote is a son of Authentic making his debut for Brad Cox and Calumet Farm.

LEE'S BABY GIRL - Comparing how the horses in this field have fared under similar conditions, I see this thoroughbred has the highest speed figure for the dist-surf. Have to like the early speed on this one. No one else may even be close. This equine collects a lot of money per start. Tops in this clash. O'Neill adds Lasix to this one today. I'd look for improvement. I like the hard fact that this filly's last speed rating, 87, is tops in this bunch. BIG LEAP - Registered a nice turf fig on January 20th at Santa Anita. A repeat right here, and this one has a great shot to win. Horses out of the barn of Thomas have been strong on the grass. Should do well. Generally speaking, horses on Lasix for the first time should be considered. That's what we have here. Great average class rating on this horse. Should have the power to run well on the turf. GIGGLE GIGGLE - I always like to see a horse getting Lasix for the first time. Eurton adds it on this one today.
