Analysis:
This Mizzou team just handled Bama and it wasn’t as close as the final might suggest. I know I faded them. I know some tailed snd crowed. The thing is fellas, I found out some flu bug had reared it’s head. Nobody else knew. Well seems it’s green light and the team is good to go Saturday in Arkansas. All that means is it makes the Mizzou win over the Tide even more impressive. Dennis Gates has a Tiger by the tail here. Literally. What a roller coaster ride. Two years ago he had a great beginning. Last year was so pathetic his job was in serious danger. And now here they are. They have beaten three top four ranked teams. And still, inexplicably the odds makers and pollsters are slow to respond. I will also say this. This years Tiger team is as close knit as any I’ve seen at Missouri since going clear back to the Norm Stewart era. You can’t put a price on that. And it’s real. Not contrived. These kids love and respect Gates and one another. Plus as they have clearly shown can down and out ball with the best of them. I felt the number was wrong when they went into Athens and laid waste to Georgia and I feel much the same here. I expect them to separate in the second half. Unless for some reason the shooting goes ice cold they should keep this winning train firmly on the tracks.
