Fair Grounds - Race #2

#2 Mckinzie Magic	She was pretty one paced near the back in the debut run, but she took a modest bit of action that day and returns here with Lasix while getting around two turns. Hoping she's quick enough to sit just behind the stretchout players outside of her.
#4 Mustique	Tactical type has not been able to stay late going short, but maybe the more reasonable route tempo gives her a chance to stick around better here. Could see her getting bet.
#1 Machiva	Not totally sold on her overall form, but she at least has some ability to get past horses, and that gives her some appeal in a soft race.
Race Summary	Mckinzie Magic is one of a few stretchout players here, and I wonder if she might turn a grinding debut trip into something better while getting around two turns.

Fair Grounds - Race #6

#1 Mischief Joke	Popular claim is capable of something better than he showed last time out, and he might work out a dreamy trip from the fence while tucked in behind some more serious pace players -- but also getting the jump on the next guy.
#9 Went West	He makes a lot of sense here, but that has also been true in those recent starts in which he only managed underneath shares. Player should get a fair setup from off the splits.
#12 Castille	Would want him on the deeper/reach tickets, as there are a couple races on his page that stack up OK with these, and he's at least bringing decent Delta races with him today.
Race Summary	Mischief Joke might be an OK price here, and I think he gets the perfect trip between the speed and finishers. Something like the two-back try could do.

Fair Grounds - Race #8

#8 Mister Dennis	Mild worry about getting trapped by a stretchout sprint finisher, but he caught a really well-meant winner in that last one, giving him some interesting upside in the second career start while coming out of what felt like a good spot for the level.
#9 Temple of Peace	He's getting short on excuses at this point, but there are a couple of honest finishing lines on his page that would keep him in the frame today if he brings his typical effort.
#6 Cesium	Absolutely nothing from him at 91/1 in the debut try, but he stretches out on the dirt with a much easier group waiting for him at second asking today. Can't do much but guess, but he could come forward in a hurry today.
Race Summary	Mister Dennis stretches out after what feels like a useful debut run, and he should be in position to get the jump on a couple of logical but uninspiring later threats.

2^nd race [Clm 32000, 1 mi] – (2) Gimme Gimme was third last time in a very tough starter allowance and was claimed for $50,000 two races back by Linda Rice. (4) Sunday Gift was a winner of a NY-bred maiden in January by eight lengths and gets first-time Lasix. (1) Steel Vengeance comes out of that same starter allowance as the top choice. (3) Rockible won a maiden claimer by more than four lengths last time and Lezcano stays on board for Rice.

5^th race [Clm 50000B, 6 ? F] – (2) What’s Up Bro (B) came back from a seven month layoff, had to check sharply while rank and hard to handle, and now drops back to the claiming ranks. (1) Paxsational drops back to the claiming where he broke his maiden for $50,000 and then won a starter allowance with front-end efforts. (3) Disarmed moves in for a tag after racing in high level allowances. (4) Spun and Won will make his third start off a layoff following a big improvement to form last month.

7^th race [Md 20000, 6 ? F] – (6) Global Charmer (B) dropped into a maiden claimer, stalked, got the lead, and was beat at the wire by a neck. (2) Melancia will make a drop down to this lowest level and has early speed. (5) Allenhurst ships up to New York from the Tampa division of the Sacco barn having just missed by a neck. She will get blinkers back on. (4) Spitfire Gal debuted in a maiden special weight and gets Lasix for her second start.

9^th race [NY, Clm 25000, 1 mi] – (6) Brew Pub (B) tossed his head, broke last, rallied wide, loomed up, finished second, and got claimed. (9) Amedeus Music exits a series of allowance and starter allowances into this claimer that is restricted to NY-breds. (8) Montebello was a winner at this level last month with a front-end effort and got claimed. (1) That’s Money was claimed from his last two starts with a win for $16,000 against open company and a third in February behind Montebello.

Best bets: What’s Up Bro (5^th); Global Charmer (7^th). Best value: Gimme Gimme (2^nd); Brew Pub (9^th).

VERSUS - Although I sometimes have doubts about a pony who didn't win as the favorite in his last race, this colt got a solid figure and fits well here. This thoroughbred has recorded the best recent turf speed figure at the distance/surface. READY FOR PEACE - After the event aboard this horse on February 9th, the jockey is going to know the colt much better. Have to make this colt a serious competitor; he comes off a sharp race on February 9th. Ran a sizzling time for the last quarter on February 9th at Gulfstream Park. Anything close in this event should get the job done. I like this colt. Has the topmost earnings per race entered in here. WALKING IN MEMPHIS - I'm focusing on the class of this horse, and this one is the 'classiest' of the bunch. Casse is giving this one Lasix for the 1st time. Good move. I think that the addition of the 'hood' today will keep his mind on the race at hand. GOVERNING PARTY - Maker brings him back again. I suggest you stick with this hot colt.

BARRICADE - I think this chalk horse needs this race under his belt to start getting back into shape. The speed rating last time around the track doesn't fit very well in this clash when I look at the class figure of today's contest. Mark this horse as a possibly overvalued equine. TIZ DASHING - Hard to take this horse at the odds after the finish (fifth) in the last race. CONCORD GREEN - Improbable for this steed to do much today. The very long layoff is a troublesome sign. Doubtful that the speed fig he notched on Oct 19th will be good enough in this contest.

MELANIE'S TIGER - My experienced judgement tells me to be on the alert for this thoroughbred in this event IDAHO ONCE - It looks like Franco had to be more familiar with this gelding on February 2nd when riding him for the initial time. Back aboard again today. Based on this gelding's recent efforts, he should profit from this contest's shorter trip. That 94 fig this gelding earned in his last clash tells me he's a key player today.

HARCYN - This horse likes to hit the board, but doesn't usually win. Forget the top spot. This entrant's record tells you not to bet on him as the favorite. The fig last time around the track doesn't fit very well in this race when I look at the class rating of today's race. Mark this thoroughbred as a possibly overvalued contestant. HALO UNCLE - In this situation, this mount's inability to make up any ground in the last clash is a reason for concern. No picnic to bet on this mount this time out. Make him show you something in a short distance event before you play him in a race of 6 furlongs. RUNKERRY - This horse is always close, but just doesn't finish first. Tough to invest in him on the top end.
