YOU CAN'T WIN is my choice. Like the finish positions in the last few events. Formidable average speed figures in dirt sprint races make this pony a key contender. With one of the most respectable jockeys in terms of profits at the window, don't count this filly out. LADY WELLINGTON - Has put up solid speed figures in dirt sprint races in the past. Difficult to pass on this filly with Salazarbecerra in the saddle. LEMORIAN - A solid 88 avg class figure may give this filly a distinct class edge against this group. Looks solid to be up near the front end at the first call.

FULLY FUNDED - I'm always particularly concerned about any animal that earns his biggest speed fig on an 'off' track. BUTCHY BOY - Speed ratings of 52/49/41 are going the wrong way. BIG WALK - 5/1 odds isn't enough for this horse when checking the most recent outings. A runner should have more zip at 1 1/16 miles to give me hope about his winning probability at 6 furlongs.

GUEST COMMENTARY: The Brain - BEAU DAY - A pace investigation shows this equine should have the pace to wire-to-wire this bunch.

FOR A LAUGH (IRE) - Believe in this horse. Coming off the pace, I think he'll be in a great spot to demolish them in the stretch. Comparing how the horses in this field have fared under similar conditions, I see this thoroughbred has the highest speed fig for the dist-surf. Diodoro will try adding the 'shades' today in hopes of an improved performance. This horse's last three Equibase speed figs (98, 92, 92) are equal to or higher than today's class rating. That's all I need to know. LIMITED HEATWAVE - Gelding's last workout was second fastest of the day for the distance.

Vulnerable Contenders: #6 VORPAL (ML=7/2), #3 MY CAIRO KID (ML=4/1), #5 RUN BRYCE RUN (ML=5/1),

VORPAL - Recorded a pedestrian speed fig last time out in a $16,000 Claiming race on Feb 1st. Doubtful to see an improved performance off of that figure. MY CAIRO KID - Looked good on February 10th, finishing second, but no workouts since is a bit troublesome. This horse likes to be on the board, but doesn't usually get the job done. Leave out of the top spot. RUN BRYCE RUN - This gelding is always close, but just doesn't win. Tough to bet on him on the win end.

GUEST COMMENTARY: Winston - FOR A LAUGH (IRE) - Playing the top earnings per start animal is an angle which won't steer you wrong in the long run. I'm betting on this one.

My selection for this race is ANNA UP. Davidson has her trained very well to break speedily out of the gate. The average class figure of 46 makes this one difficult to beat. Her earnings per start in dirt route races alone makes you take a look at her. LEUCADIA - With a sound 56 average speed figure at the distance, seems well suited for today's affair. Has to be considered - I like the figs from the last outing. GOSPEL EXPRESSION - Gamblers get an edge when playing this handler in a dirt route race.
