Fair Grounds - Race #6

#5 Ageless Union	Not sure what to make of the cheap race at Golden Gate, but she seems to be working forwardly for this and gets Ortiz in the irons in a bad race. Looks live. Probably not 6/1.
#1 Red Zone	Bit worried about the drop here off the dull run, but anything close to her baseline stuff should be competitive here while finding an easier spot with some speed from the fence.
#9 La Clasica	Speed stayed on well in the debut run, and she can be tough here if she's able to step forward at all off that first try. Enough to like.
Race Summary	Ageless Union ran OK on synthetic footing at Golden Gate last year, and she's back fresh with some snappy Delta works to her credit ahead of this. Get a look at her on the track, but I'm guessing she's ready.

Fair Grounds - Race #8

#1 Sargent Sully	He could take some heat from the inside, but I like that he has enough pace to stay in the mix early regardless of what the debuters outside of him do. Thinking he'll stick around better today.
#3 Ancient World	Firster is worth a look for capable connections along with the guy outside of him -- wouldn't be surprised to see either of those make some noise here.
#9 Caribbean Dream	He didn't have much left at the turn in while debuting at Oaklawn, but he's got some room to come forward off that run and draws well to prompt the pace from the outside. Capable underlay?
Race Summary	Sargent Sully tracked and faded in the debut try, but there is enough upside off that run to think he might sustain his pace better at second asking. Price might be OK.

Fair Grounds - Race #9

#4 Fast Beach	Stretchout player might have just enough speed to find a good spot near the top in a race that doesn't contain any serious pace at all unless the also-eligibles start drawing in. Tough.
#1 Tyler's Turn	He made a decent middle move after leaving himself a ton to do in the debut try, but he might transfer that kind of effort into something a bit better on the lawn today.
#6 Tequila N' Salt	Absolutely nothing from him through three starts with better, but he is coming out of a couple of races I really liked, including one that produced a next-out stakes winner. Could wake up.
Race Summary	Fast Beach should be a handful with what I'm assuming will be some positional pace on the stretchout that should give him the jump on the serious finishers.

MUNNYSTRUCK - Ought to be considered here on the basis of the figures in the speed section alone. Will most likely compete admirably in the early pace battle which bodes well with this group. CARIBBEAN DREAM - Demonstrates the look of a profitable play, averaging a solid 76 speed fig which is one of the strongest in this group. Will most likely go to the front end and could never look back. Decent jock and trainer combo winning 28 percent of their races working together.

REDHEADEDSTRANGER - You always have to be on the patrol for revenue generating rider/trainer tandems; we have it right here. Was in a $15,000 Maiden Claiming race at Turfway Park last time around the track. That race had a class figure of 83 and she is moving down in this event. A certain serious competitor. I usually like playing sprint horses who are 3-4 races into a come back.

Vulnerable Contenders: #2 LUNAR SEAS (ML=3/1), #7 COMPUTADORA (ML=7/2), #5 G'DAY LADY (ML=4/1),

LUNAR SEAS - Not easy to bet on any horse in a sprint affair at 3/1 when she hasn't shown any on the board results in sprints in the last couple of months. COMPUTADORA - Just cannot bet on this racer. Didn't show me anything positive in the last race or on Jan 31st. 7/2 is not offering enough value for any thoroughbred in a sprint of 6 furlongs that hasn't hit the board in a short distance affair recently. G'DAY LADY - Hard to support any animal with lessening speed ratings of 70/61/56. Don't think this mount will make an impact in today's event. That last speed rating was mediocre when compared with today's class figure.

My choice in this race is FROST BITTEN especially at a such a nice price. BE THERE - He has been running quite well and the Equibase speed figs are among the most respectable in this group of horses in this race. Handler has strong win rate (21 percent) at this distance and surface. TRIUMPHANT ROAD - Trainer has strong win rate (21 percent) at this distance and surface. With a respectable 86 speed fig last time out, will definitely be a factor in this competition.

STORM THE STREETS - Jockey hops up atop after getting to know the fine animal by riding in the last race. That's always a helpful angle. The rest of the field may trail this horse all the way around the track. TEQUILA N' SALT - Faced tougher last time around the track at Fair Grounds. Based on class ratings, this is a weaker group, so I will put this horse on my list of top contenders. This thoroughbred is for real on the grass. TrackMaster turf number in last race at Fair Grounds was tops in this group. This equine didn't run well on the soft turf in his last race at Fair Grounds. You should disregard that showing. In my opinion, you need 'class' to be successful on the turf. This one has the highest average class rating in the field. WINNING CAMPAIGN - Generally speaking, horses on Lasix for the first time should be considered. That's what we have here.

TYLER'S TURN - Will probably be left with much too much to do in the stretch. The finish of fifth in the last event shows me that this equine may be tailing off. BATTER UP - Earned a pedestrian speed rating last time around the track in a $30,000 Maiden Claiming race on Feb 20th. Not likely to see an improved performance off of that fig. FAST BEACH - Not probable that the speed figure he notched on Feb 7th will be enough in this event.
