Fair Grounds - Race #5

#1 Manage Xpectations	She moved up nicely when getting around two turns on the main last time out, and she can be a handful here if she transfers that kind of effort over to the turf today.
#2 Betty's Dance	Stretchout player should find a good spot near the top going long, but I worry that she's going to be overbet with what feels like a moderately competitive group.
#7 Eyes on Italy	The move back to turf should work in her favor, as her two- and three-back runs on the grass were both solid enough to keep her in the frame with these. Should bounce back.
Race Summary	Manage Xpectations should find a cozy spot up near the top today while trying a turf route, and I think she's going to really like the trip. She handled turf OK in a modest sprint effort earlier in her career and can build off that solid last run.

Fair Grounds - Race #6

#6 Laser Clad	There are a couple questions to answer today on the rise while trying the dirt, but that score in the turf sprint debut was sharp enough to think the talent is here to land this one right back.
#2 Star Rock Star	I've always thought highly enough of him, and he should be in line for another really good trip tracking the pace today. Wouldn't be any surprise right back.
#10 Conejo Chapin	Really liked his debut score when punching away late, and he draws well to get another similar kind of wide-moving trip again today.
Race Summary	Laser Clad was sharp on the turf in his debut run, and he might get a perfect attacking trip while outside of a touch of other pace.

Fair Grounds - Race #8

#4 Turf Monster	Lots to like about his debut score, and he's bred to enjoy the added ground today while stretching around two turns. Think he'll handle these.
#12 Cheatin Charlie	He's cheap, but I do always like a big move off the claim, and getting this guy around two turns on the turf while rising into allowance company is a few big moves at once. Stretchout player should control the pace.
#9 Mysterious Spirit	He has some positional pace and should be in a great spot again turning for home -- established player won't be a surprise.
Race Summary	Turf Monster still has some upside after just one start, and he already looked good winning when going short last month. All signs point to another good effort.

3rd race – (5) Whiting Field (C) was bet down from 3-1 to 2-1 and finished third. Should get the job done here. (2) Oconee Life has speed and will be tough to catch. UNCLE'S THE BANKER - This horse should go right out to the early lead and may never look back. Could wire the field. I do like the fact this gelding is back in a race so quickly. Mathes brings him right back. I suggest you stick with this hot gelding. LT'S JACKNTHEBOX - I do like the fact this gelding is back in a race so quickly.

Vulnerable Contenders: #4 BANG A RANG (ML=5/2), #1 SECRET RENDEZVOUS (ML=7/2), #5 SAGE RUNNER (ML=5/1),

BANG A RANG - February 23rd is the last time we've seen this gelding around. Have to be a little bit leery. SECRET RENDEZVOUS - This equine doesn't have a tenacious nature. Repeatedly finishes in the place and show hole. The speed figure last time around the track doesn't fit very well in this race when I look at the Equibase class figure of today's race. Mark this racer as a possibly overvalued contestant. SAGE RUNNER - This gelding gave a less than rousing performance last time out of the box. This vulnerable equine ran a disappointing speed rating last time out. He shouldn't show signs of improvement and will probably lose in today's race running that figure.

WISE VERDICT - Jock jumped on this gelding's back for the 1st attempt on Feb 23rd. Should be in tune with the horse even better this time. This gelding is in excellent form right now. Ran first last time out and comes back soon. In my opinion, you need 'class' to be successful on the grass. This one has the highest average Equibase class figure in the field. WICKED SECRET - Based on his last TrackMaster turf figure alone, I'm going to play this horse. Strong win percentage this jock and conditioner tandem have been putting together. That 89 fig this gelding notched in his last affair tells me he's a key player this time around. PLAY MO - Took a significant drop in class rating last out at Fair Grounds. I've got to go with BELIEVE IN PERRY. With a nice class fig average of 90, has one of the strongest class advantages in this group of animals. He has been running well and the Equibase Speed Figures are among the top in this group. Very good pick to take this race going in a short. FREIGHT LYNER - Will almost certainly come out strong - I have liked the way this gelding has moved swiftly to the lead recently. Could best this group of horses based on the speed rating - 78 - of his last affair. LOMAX - He looks respectable in this slot and I expect will be on the lead or close at the halfway point. Had one of the best Equibase Speed Figures of this field in his last contest.
