Mahoning Valley - Race #1

#4 My Baby Bullet	Not much in the recent fades, but he was competitive when racing with claiming company earlier this year and should be able to force the issue from out here.
#1 Dr. Jobo's Day	He's probably going to be tough in here if he brings something similar to his only other try for a tag, and he might be quick enough to stay in the mix early.
#3 Formyboys	He's another forward player who makes some sense with his better stuff, but I don't have a ton of confidence that he's the one who will stay best in this small group.
Race Summary	My Baby Bullet looks like a good fit with these and ran a good second when racing against something similar earlier this season. Think he'll graduate today.

Mahoning Valley - Race #8

#3 Last Minute Mikey	This doesn't feel like the softest group we're going to see at this level, but this fresh face has some appeal in a race that doesn't have a lot of finishing punch. Something one-paced may do.
#9 Red Chips	He draws well to prompt the pace from the start with these, and there is some pretty reasonable upside here in the second career start after he only coughed it up late in the debut.
#6 Flaring Song	He showed a little bit of tracking pace and stayed for a share last out, and something of that style and quality would probably put him in the picture for a share again today.
Race Summary	Last Minute Mikey has some appeal right out of the box, so check him out on the tote and track ahead of this one.

Mahoning Valley - Race #9

#4 Mister Zazu	I liked his comeback run when he got involved from the start and never really quit when passed late, and there is plenty of reason to expect something even better today while making his second run back off the bench. Tighter pace stays to score today?
#6 He Is Dynamic	He stepped things up in a big way in the second start back, and I don't think additional improvement is out of the question here. Like the trip he's supposed to get.
#9 Oh Lover Boy	Considered him on top. I like the improved pace he showed last out, any similar kind of step forward today would make him a real handful. Wouldn't argue with anyone landing here -- except maybe the price?
Race Summary	Mister Zazu ends up being a decent lean here -- especially if the price stays appealing enough. I get the feeling that the race off the layoff will do him some good, and an effort like that was already in the frame with these.

My pick in this race is CRUISING GAL. Is hard not to look at based on speed figures which have been very good - 67 avg - of late. Players ought to note that this pony runs with second time Lasix today. WEST MAPLE - Strong profits over time for this jock and trainer duo. Ran a sharp last race. EVALINA - Has to be given a shot against this group displaying formidable numbers lately and an average speed figure of 63 under similar conditions. Ran a very strong last race.

BIG WALK - Reason to like this colt as he has in the saddle one of the best jocks using winning percentages over the last 30 days. Garnered a reliable speed fig in the last race. Can run another good one in this affair. KARAOKE - With a reliable 65 average speed figure at the distance, seems well suited for today's competition. Win percentage with this jockey and trainer combo - 17 percent - solid.

MISSION KEY - Allen and Rarick perform well when they join forces. It's hard to beat a +139 return on investment for a jockey and conditioner. Rarick drops him down to this level. You don't need too much more data to believe this animal will be one to beat at this level. Look for this gelding to run lots better right here. Last affair at Tampa Bay Downs finishing eighth on a track listed as good is no indication of his true ability. HE'S A GOOD DANCER - Marin's agent must look forward to anytime Sacco gives them a mount; win percentage together is terrific. Trainer Sacco moves this horse to a lower level to face a less competitive field. Look for a nice race this time out.

Vulnerable Contenders: #1 NAUTILUS (ML=4/1), #4 MACKENZIE'S NOVVA (ML=9/2), #10 JOE'S HAD ENOUGH (ML=5/1),

NAUTILUS - This gelding hasn't been showing me anything in the last two races. MACKENZIE'S NOVVA - Doesn't really look inspiring to me after the lack of any type of closing response on March 1st. If you keep selecting these kind of 'bridesmaid' types, you're going to be let down frequently. JOE'S HAD ENOUGH - Quite unimpressive speed rating in the last race at Tampa Bay Downs at 1 1/16 miles. Don't feel this runner will improve too much in today's race.
