Evangeline Downs - Race #1

#4 Kisses for Cooper	Not sure she's 8/1 here, but she fits well after waking up a little bit in those last two in New Orleans. Decent lean with confidence that she can land this.
#3 Tiz a Breakup	She's a logical alternative to the top choice and fits if she can hold that form from the last one, but she has historically been very flat over the local footing, and I'd be hesitant to see if this 8-year-old is going to carry that with her at what might not be a super appealing price.
#8 Eve Eve	Reliable finisher seems to have rounded into form in that third start back, and something similar makes her competitive right back with this local crew. One of the ones.
Race Summary	Hoping Kisses for Cooper can find a decent spying trip in a race without a ton of serious pace, and I think either of her last two tries would make her a handful if she brings something similar.

Evangeline Downs - Race #4

#13 Problem Solved	He ran pretty well in that two-back start at Fair Grounds, and the forecast certainly makes it look like he'll get the main track today. Think he handles these if he holds the dirt form.
#11 Who Is Chief	He has some mild tracking pace and can stay on for a share, and I don't think he's overmatched with this group on the main.
#5 All Rizz	He needed a $15,000 crew to show some life last time out, but he could find an OK trip right up on the pace if this field scratches down a little bit on the dirt. Midrange price chance.
Race Summary	If somehow this is on turf, #3 Southscape should score. On the main I'll look to a couple players drawn out wide.

Evangeline Downs - Race #6

#5 She's Magnificent	Willing to forgive the two-turn try at Delta last out and hope the turn back will work in her favor. I think there are some sharper pace players, and she might default into a perfect pressing/spying run today.
#8 Aoraki	She just handled a Prairie Meadows stakes group and has some obvious quality, and she draws perfectly to hassle anyone else flashing pace. Price won't be much, but she can be tough. Can't argue with anyone taking a strong lean here.
#4 Quite the Catch	Her one-turn form has been better than those two-turn Delta races, and maybe she can get past a handful of these for a share late if the pace heats up.
Race Summary	She's Magnificent is worth a look while getting back to a sprint spot in a race that might set up really well for her if she can relax just a touch early.

Race Summary	STAR OF THE NIGHT is perfectly spotted as today’s Best Bet. She met repeat winners in her first two starts this year after she skipped her entire 4-year-old season. She pressed the pace for 6F in a turf marathon two starts back won by Lady Claypoole, who came back to win the Grade 3 Santa Ana Stakes. She ‘continued to fight the rider’ and was no threat in a $50,000 optional claiming race last out that produced a winner and two runners-up with an average 86 Beyer. She should sit an ideal stalking trip in a speed-laden field. Bet to win and place and play 2-3 and 2-6 exactas.

#5 ACTIVATED (5-1)	Won stateside debut, lost backstretch momentum in latest, value remains.
#6 ACE ACE BABY (5-2)	Rallied, drifted in, ran second, two strong works since then for hot barn.
#2 FREE AND HUMBLE (9-2)	Held ‘command’ through turn two back at distance, missed in photo finish.
Race Summary	ACTIVATED rallied past two six-figure turf earners to win her U.S. debut off a year layoff two starts ago. She lost a couple lengths when shuffled early in her follow-up try, but she lacked stretch kick while chasing the two favorites in a tougher spot. She’s worth a win and place bet at 5-1 on the morning line. Also play 5-2, 5-6 and 6-5 exactas.

Santa Anita - Race #4

#6 CHASIN MUNNY (Even)	Held off troubled runner-up, drops off claim, strictly one to beat.
#5 HONEYMOON SUITE (9-2)	Has speed, gets class relief and gets in light-weighted.
#4 PERFECT D (8-1)	Late runner has five photo-finish wins at Los Alamitos in his last nine starts.
Race Summary	CHASIN MUNNY has two wins and a near miss in his last four starts and looms a short price on the class drop. New trainer Francisco Rodriguez claimed 13 horses in the last year, eight of whom were dismissed at 5-2 odds or less, but three who won at odds of 7-2, 6-1 and 9-1. Bet to win and place and play 6-4 and 6-5 exactas.

2^nd race [Clm 40000 N2L, 7F] – (3) Silo Ridge was second by a nose at this level in his second start following a layoff. (6) Enduring Spirit was a maiden special weight and then tried much tougher competition in three stakes and now drops into a N2L for the first time. (5) Ari’s Magic returns from a layoff as a new gelding and goes into a claimer for the first time. (1) Go Irish was third in his debut last year at Gulfstream in a maiden special weight and then won for the first time against New Jersey-breds.

4^th race [Alw 50000s, 1 1/8 mi] – (6) Mad Banker won his last two starts on the front-end moving from a N2L to a N3L claimer at Laurel after getting claimed by Jamie Ness. (3) Timaeus was claimed from a victory by five-lengths in a $25,000 N2L. (5) Neon Bordeaux was claimed from his last two starts including a $40,000 maiden claimer which happened a month ago. (4) Berning Beauty was second and third in a pair of similar starter allowances.

5^th race [Clm 10000, 1 mi] – (4) Coquito won a N3L $25,000 claimer in January at Aqueduct. (5) Trade Secret takes blinkers off and drops down to this lowest-level race for a tag after having raced a week ago. (6) Find Your Joy won a $16,000 claimer two races back and then stumbled at the start and lost all chance after rushing up to the lead. (7) Everlys Girl was a winner for $10,000 three races ago.

8^th race [Clm 16000 N2L, 6F] – (6) Despo’s Dream broke her maiden for $20,000, was claimed for $40,000 next time, and since then made three starts against tougher company. (2) Santagata won a NY-bred maiden special weight, gets blinkers on, goes to the lowest level of her career. (8) Shaman Princess was second in a pair of similar races in February and March. (4) Danneel was a maiden winner for $30,000 two weeks ago.

SEPTEMBER MAGIC - Lone speed horses can be tough to run down. Here's a lone speedy sort facing sluggish sorts today. I figure Hanson is making a good move here. This filly can only profit from the shorter distance. Dropped in class in the last race, running against the same type today. This filly is in first-rate form right now. Finished third last out and comes back soon. FREE AND HUMBLE - I expect a lot from this magnificent animal. Her Equibase speed figs under similar conditions are tops in this group. Ran last out against a much better field at Santa Anita. The move to a lower class level should suit her well. Running 6 furlongs on the turf, you've have to look at horse's turf figures. This thoroughbred has the tops in the bunch. Look for this one to go all the way home at some pretty good odds today. Ran fourth in last race, but not more than 5 from the lead at the wire. This mare's last speed fig is good enough to win here, I'll bet on her right back this time out. DIAMOND BAR GAL - Another way to assign class is earnings per race. This animal has the highest in the bunch. I think she'll be close at the finish. Last race out, ran the last quarter in less than 25 ticks. What that tells me is she can close well, and should be right there at the wire this time. ACE ACE BABY - After the contest aboard this animal on March 8th, the rider is going to 'know' the filly much better. This jock/trainer duo has been producing a high winning pct, right around 39. Horses out of the barn of Mullins have been solid on the grass. Should do well today. A pony coming back this promptly after a strong contest is a good signal. Filly is a few starts into a comeback here. Should give a big race today.

Vulnerable Contenders: #5 ACTIVATED (IRE) (ML=5/1), #3 CHEEKY GAL (ML=8/1),

ACTIVATED (IRE) - Finished fifth on Mar 17th after the very long layoff. Doubtful if there will be any change in this race. Last performed on Mar 17th at Santa Anita, finishing fifth. Unlikely to improve off of that performance in today's event. Tough for this closer animal to get up today. Without a hot pace to stir things up, the lone pace is going to make it awfully hard to get the job done. CHEEKY GAL - The speed figure last out doesn't fit very well in this race when I look at the class figure of today's event. Mark this mount as a vulnerable contender.

HITTHEROADJAK is my choice. Could wake up with Lasix change (with second time Lasix) today. Has very good front-end speed and should fare soundly versus this group. Put up a formidable speed rating in the latest race. Can run another good one in this affair. WINDSOR GOLD - With a strong 110 speed figure last time out, will definitely be a factor in this contest. With one of the strongest jocks in terms of profits at the window, don't count this gelding out. MINDTAP - Is a strong contender based on figures earned lately under today's conditions. Investors ought to take a good look at this one as this gelding has one of the best win percentages at this distance in this field.

Vulnerable Contenders: #2 STAR OF WONDER (ML=9/5), #6 REPO ROCKS (ML=5/1), #1 POWER SEEKER (ML=5/1),

STAR OF WONDER - I normally try to beat this kind of chalk. Extended layoff and no drop in level of competition. Registered a run-of-the-mill speed figure last out in a $125,000 Optional Claiming race on November 24th. Improbable to see an improved performance off of that rating. REPO ROCKS - Would have to move up off that second place finish last time out to make an impact here. Should be difficult for this thoroughbred to beat this group off of that last rating. Unlikely to improve enough to run a figure close enough to today's Equibase class figure, so put him on the likely underlays list. POWER SEEKER - The speed ratings continue to decline, 90/87/82. Not a positive sign. Earned a run-of-the-mill fig last time out in an $80,000 Optional Claiming race on August 23rd. Not probable to see an improved performance off of that rating.
