1st race – (12) Daphne Blue has the outside post but should win at first asking for Ward. (9) Kadabra is an interesting starter from Pletcher. (5) Lennilu could bring home a piece of the purse. (11) The Little Sultana could be a factor in this field. Betting strategy: 12 to win, place. Exacta box: 5-9-11-12. Doubles: 5-9-11-12 with 4-6-9-11.

2nd race – (4) Shortstop drops to a level where he should prove best. (6) Baobab may wake up in a claimer. (9) Midnight Survivor should improve off his career debut. (11) Paved in Gold fits nicely here. Betting strategy: 4 to win, place. Exacta box: 4-6-9-11.

(1) Eclatant took a Grade 3 stakes at Gulfstream and figures to be the main rival. (3) G W’s Girl belongs in the exotics. Betting strategy: 4 to win, place. Exacta box: 1-3-4.

5^th race [Md 20000, 6F] – (3) Melancia hit the board three times including three weeks ago when she finished second in a similar spot as the odds-on favorite. (6) Teca will drop down in class after a September layoff for Linda Rice and gets first-time Lasix. (4) Just Words was third in her last two races. (2) Aerialist gets blinkers on and first-time Lasix and drops down from a $50,000 claimer.

6^th race [Clm 16000 N2L, 1 1/8 mi] – (7) Endowed (B) had an awkward break back to last and rallied from eighth to second while well clear of the rest of the field. (6) Brown Don’t Stop has three recent competitive races in N2L claimers and they were all at the nine-furlong distance. (5) Albedo broke his maiden by more than 10 lengths for $30,000 and then tried a starter allowance and was overmatched. (4) D Day Sky has run well at this level in the past.

8^th race [OC 100K/N1X, 1 mi] – (2) Uncle Jim was a debut winner at Keeneland in October as the favorite in an 11-horse field. He was third in an allowance, ran in the Withers (G3), and was claimed after a victory for $50,000 by Linda Rice in February. (5) Uncaged was a debut winner at Saratoga at 5-1. He was fourth in an allowance at Gulfstream Park four weeks ago and gets blinkers on. (4) Toga d’Oro broke his maiden in his second start at Aqueduct at the start of March. (1) On the Mount debuted on the turf for Chad Brown at Gulfstream in February and then won on the dirt at Tampa Downs.

10^th race [Moc 40000C, 7F] – (3) Into Stardom was second in his debut for Chad Brown in a NY-bred maiden special weight. (5) Calling an Audible pressed the pace, had the lead, and was second at this level last month and overall has eight finishes in the top three. (7) Our Preferred Pal was third last start in a NY-bred maiden special weight. (4) Sounds of Summer was third in his only start at the beginning of March in a similar spot.

FROM THE HEART - Jockey jumped on this gelding's back for the initial time on March 2nd. Should 'know' the animal even better in today's race. COUNTRY CAPER - In this race here, this horse has clearly shown signs that he likes the turf. His speed figs are the highest in the field for this distance-surface. I seem to always make money betting Bravo horses on the grass. That barn has a dominant win percent for this distance/surface. IMUA KAI - This gelding is almost always on the board. After the race aboard this horse on Mar 2nd, the jock is going to know the gelding much better. Hebert has a very strong win percent in grass routes. This gelding should be conditioned properly and ready to go.

AWESOME SPIRIT GAL (FR) - Faced tougher last race out at Gulfstream Park. Based on Equibase class ratings, this is a weaker bunch, so I will put this one on my list of probable winners in this race. This filly is clearly on the improve with Equibase speed figures of 78, 80, 88 last 3 out. BRODERIE - This mare is in nice physical condition. Ran third on March 8th. Jock hops back up aloft after getting to know the mount by riding in the last race. That's always a good thing. Ranked at the very top in earnings per start (EPS). Another confirmation that this horse has the class to take this race. U LITE UP MY LIFE - Look at this pattern of improvement. 76/87/89 are the last three speed ratings.
