4* Gonzaga -3.5
Zags returning production is better and more effective than KU’s. Agbaji is too streaky and I don’t trust him to come out hot in game 1. Garrett is a stud defensively but isn’t good enough on offense. That leaves you with McCormack, Braun, Thompson, and Lightfoot to help keep pace. KUs inability to keep up and the poor FT shooting of Garrett and Agbaji will be the difference.
On the other side, Kispert is lethal, Ayayi is decent piece, and Suggs will show he’s the real deal. Add to that Timme down low, Nembhard being eligible, and Cook from SIU and the Zags have a lot of depth in scoring. They have two other FR that can hold their own, and I can’t see KU keeping pace scoring. The only KU advantage is a lack of Zags front court depth, it won’t be enough and the Zags take this by 8+.
