I have a strong lean on USM. Alabama Birmingham just has an awful D. Now, USM has some big players out. RB Damion Fletcher who is on his way to being ranked in the top 5 NCAA rushers of all time is out tonight, however last year he had 5 carries in the 70-14 win against UAB (T. Harrison and Vincent Floyd both had over 20 carries for over 120 yds last year against UAB and both will play tonight), DeAndre Brown a big time playmaker from my home town is out tonight but he has only played 2 games this year due to injuries (they have 3 other WR with 10+ rec for over 100yds and 4 other WR with TD Rec).

UAB has played SMU, Troy, and Texas A&M...now A&M is decent this year but they aren't as good as their numbers indicate. However they are explosive on offense like USM and UAB had no shot. They beat Troy by 13 on the road and SMU by 2 at home giving up 33 points.
USM has played Alcorn State, Central Florida, Virginia, and Kansas. Now they struggled with Virginia at home in very bad weather. Their D struggled in the 1h and played exceptionally well in the 2h. They lost to KU on the road by 7 and put up 28 points in that game.
Southern Miss is 9-2 ATS in its last 11 games on the road, Southern Miss is 5-1 ATS in its last 6 games when playing UAB, and Southern Miss is 5-0 SU in its last 5 games when playing UAB.
In recent years here are how they compared with score. 2008 USM wins 70-14, 2007 USM wins at UAB 37-7, 2006 USM wins 25-20, and 2005 USM 37-28. The last two times USM has played when they turned out to have a dynamic offense UAB has had problems scoring and keeping up. Turnovers have hurt the UAB blazers, they turned it over 6 times last year to usm and 2 times the year before.
