Good job and congrats to the forum, I am pretty sure almost everyone came out on top this weekend....ok let's all take one second and pat ourselves on the back
Ok now stop that shit and let's move on to this week. LOL, we are going for the 4th straight week of banging the bookie.....I love seeing that sad face when we are taking his money
First game on tap this week. ECU -4 vs Memphis
I would love to just say hey guys you know what, I am going to pass on this one and just wait for a better game. But, we are degenerates so I have started crunching some numbers.
First the weather for this game looks to be semi ugly again. 70% chance of rain up until game time and it looks like it will be raining all day leading up to the game, the rain should be out of there by half if not before. Check on that again tomorrow. The field there is turf so it shouldn't be in that bad of shape.
ECU is going for it's 4th consecutive win over Memphis with the previous 3 all being of 15 points or more. ECU is a tad bit different this year if you have not seen them play. They tend to be a little boring on offense and Pinkney has had some turnover issues so far this year. However, their D has been forcing some turnovers. ECU has 14 turnovers on O and has forced 17 turnovers on D. Their starting RB Dominique Lindsay may miss this game but that shouldn't be too much of a problem for them, don't get me wrong it will hurt them a little but they have 2 other backs that are more than capable of stepping in and running the ball against the 104th worst run D in the Nation. Memphis has struggled this year and they found out recently that their starting QB Tyler Bass will be out for the year. Insert 6-4 225 Junior QB Will Hudgens. He really hasn't played that bad. He beat UTEP at home 2 weeks ago throwing 3 TD and 1 INT and he lost at USM last week throwing 2 INT and 1TD. What ECU will be forced to deal with is RB Curtis Steele who has the intangibles to be a great RB. He is and has been a force this year. ECU will counter that running game with the 29th best run D in the Nation. I think well I know their gameplan will be shut Steele down and force Hudgens to beat them in the air. Memphis btw is on their 3rd QB this season. The last time I truly watched them play Arkelon Hall was the starter, he was just plain out right awful. Memphis has also struggled this year turning the ball over as a team though. They have turned it over 15 times and only forced 11. 6 of those forced turnovers came in 2 games, so they will have to improve on that if they want to win this game. I will post some stats on both teams below.
Memphis offense is 100th in the Nation in scoring, 70th in total yards, 66th in rushing, and 58th in passing....Memphis defense is 93rd in scoring D, 93rd in yards against, 104th in rush against, and 67th in pass against. The record of their opponents are 29-23.
ECU's offense is 76th in the Nation in scoring, 92nd in yards, 79th in rushing, 81st in passing.....ECU's D is 56th in the Nation in scoring D, 56th in total yards, 29th in rushing D, and 93rd in passing D. The record of their opponents is 24-20 (8 of those losses are from Rice who is 0-8 lol)
Common opponents are UCF and Marshall so far
UCF defeated Memphis 32-14
Marshall defeated Memphis 27-16
ECU defeated UCF 19-14
ECU defeated Marshall 21-17
I think this has the potential to be a much better game than Memphis is used to given ECU. However, I think in the end Memphis will have the same problem they have been having. They are not forcing enough turnovers on D and they are just simply not deep enough to close out games in the 4th QT. I look for ECU to come away with a 7-14 point victory as of right now. I am doing a lot more digging trust me and we have to keep an eye on that weather
