Just under $17M a year, puts him right under Antonio Brown as the NFL’s highest paid player at his position.

Browns also working on a new contract for Landry, a deal is expected to get done

Landry led the NFL with 112 receptions last season.

The Browns have never had a player record a 100-catch season.

Landry will become the first player in 40 years to change teams in the season after leading the NFL in receptions

The last player to do so was RB Lydell Mitchell, who led NFL with 71 catches in 1977 before leaving Baltimore Colts to join San Diego Chargers

Rams and Eagles are in peak Super Bowl mode. Both have starting QBs with 3 more years on their cheap, rookie deal. The salary cap has risen by $22M since they were signed and they don't have to spend that on a starting QB now or in the near future. It's an arms race at this point.


More teams becoming aware of this (something the Seahawks realized 5 years ago) ... will be one of the dominant team-building themes for the rest of the decade.

Landry had more touchdowns and almost as many receptions as all Browns wide receivers combined in 2017

The Browns assume the $16M, one-year contract for Landry, and the two sides have not included a long-term extension as part of this deal.

They will likely talk, but Landry could also simply play on the 1-year deal, see how Todd Haley uses him, and cash in next offseason
