The Jets have seemed to have some trouble the last few weeks on the road against inferior opponents. They became the first team in NFL history to win back-to-back road overtime games when they defeated the Detroit Lions and Cleveland Browns.
But the cardiac kids are home this week to take on the struggling Texans. After they beat the Colt on opening day and sprinted out to lead the AFC South, everyone was drinking the Houston Texans’ Kool-Aid. But their soft defense has brought them down to reality, and, after three consecutive losses, they are looking up from the bottom of the division.
Week 11 won’t be any easier the Texan’s 31st ranked defense (409.7 ypg) squares off against the Jets’ 11th ranked offense (362.0 ypg), and Houston’s sixth ranked offense (372.9 ypg) faces the fifth ranked Jets’ defense (306.7).
The Houston Texans have the worst defense that the New York Jets have faced in the last two weeks. The Jets clearly out-match the Texans on paper, and I hope that translates to the field. Sportsbooks have them giving less than a touchdown (-6.5). I think the Jets will continue the Texan’s downward spiral and cover the six and a half-point spread.
