The problem is that Thompson is a wildcard. We just don't know. But he's been doing well so far and most regard him as a serious prospect. I'll at least say that I have little doubt that Thompson would put Pete Sell in a bodybag. I also would favor him against Wilks, Arroyo, and maybe Howard.

And Chris Weidman only had 4 fights when he got to the UFC. John Makdessi only had 7 fights. And they both came in and beat mid-tier guys like Brown.
