OMG 14... how late did you hit puberty?

My ninja interest was probably 7-10 years old... and I was a late bloomer. I was like the last kid to stop playing with toys. I remember in 6th grade I moved from SoCal to Indianapolis, and I made my first friend, I went to his house and I thought we were going to play some GI Joe or maybe some ThunderCats... he made fun of me and I punched him.

Well it's not like the martial art "ninjutsu" is not real. There are places that teach it. In fact, I have an acquaintance who is all up in that shit.

But it was in that 12-14 year old stage where full realization came about that ninjas weren't actually the unstoppable bad asses with occult powers that you see in the movies. That, in addition to the fact that I found out that the Bujinkan school (which most people say is the only legitimate source of authentic historical ninjutsu knowledge) doesn't teach all the really cool ninja shit like espionage tactics and psychological tricks and exotic weaponry to anyone but the highest ranking students, pretty much caused me to lose interest.

Once I realized that guns were an invention, I pretty much lost all interest in exotic weaponry.
If l ever find myself in a dark alley facing a gang of sai wielding attackers, I will just disappear into a cloud of blue ninja smoke, rather than defeat them with my ninja star and nunchucks. Or I will just plug them with my 9mm

Honestly, you know what is a pretty badass piece of weaponry? Stun guns. I had this client several years ago that snuck into his ex-gfs house and hit like 4 guys with a stun gun, tied his GF up while they were unconscious and drove her to the forest. What I got out of that case is that a handheld stun gun is really effective and easy to use.

If I remember correctly, Enter the Ninja was '83 and Revenge of the Ninja was '86 . . . almost a full decade before the UFC got off the ground.

But yeah, those movies were basically training manuals for my friends and me.

Yeah, it was also during that 12 to 14 year old period that I realized that, even for a ninja, it really makes no sense to carry around a sword when you can carry around a gun.

I think it would've been cool if ninja clans had secretly continued to update their shit unto the present day, and that they still existed, but were basically like a rogue version of the special forces.

You have to scale it down while keeping the animation, otherwise it uses a still because the file size is too large for Av limits here.

I've heard of plenty of people getting stun gunned, and never once did they go unconscious. Those dudes must have been some serious pussies.
