I just watched "Drive". I thoght it was pretty good, I still don't get what all the praise is about though. It reminded me a little of "History of Violence", actually it reminds me of that movie a lot now that I think about it. I thought History of Violence was better overall, but Drive had a cool film noir 80's thing to it.

I don't get why everybody got boners over "Drive" either. It was kinda gay.

It had a great soundtrack, I give you that. I did like it better than 90% of the shit I see. I just felt more drawn into the story with History of Violence. They seem like really similar movies to me, HOV had a little better plot IMO and Drive had more original elements and overall feel to it.

The one thing I would've improved upon with Drive would be more cool driving/heist sequences. The only one was really was at the beginning of the movie. Needed more of that.

I actually appreciated that they didn't try to dumb it down with a bunch of cool looking action chase scenes. All the driving was pretty realistic and it was enough. I don't give a shit about action scenes, sometimes I even fast forward through long action scenes.

I'm not saying they had to go all Hollywood with it, but there were only two scenes in the whole movie that really illustrated what he was--a highly skilled driver--and in my opinion only the one at the beginning of the movie really pulled me in.

Yeah, I was glad to see it like that. I would have been bored with a bunch of chase scenes. I thought the scene of him driving was plenty to let us know, okay he is a driver. I do wonder about his backstory though, how did he get so badass? I am sure there is some signifigance to his scorpion jacket and his scorpion and frong story, but I don't know what it is.
