Pretty sure Silva will win that one. Nelson needs to get a few fights with guys like Rothwell and McCorkle. Maybe Travis Browne and Kongo.

Nelson already fought Rothwell and lost. It's hard to see where Nelson is at right now, his only 3 losses in the UFC are to top 5 guys though. He isn't horrible, he just isn't in that elite category

Yeah, but they keep putting him in there with killers... he is not going to beat these top guys, but he is a solid HW. I think after the Mir fight, it was apparent, he just does not have the tools to beat these big athletic guys. I agree he is more on the Kongo/Browne level than the level of guys he has been fighting. I mean, he looked like a fat midget out there against Werdum and Mir. He just is not athletic enough. I like him though, and I want to see him get some wins... but I think the UFC is making a point by having him fight true heavyweights every time now. Werdum and Mir are both huge and solid. Bigfoot is also huge and solid. He is probably going to get overpowered again.

I'm just saying that's where he's at. He took a step up and fought some top guys. He lost every time. So obviously he needs to be facing guys lower on the ladder. That doesn't mean there's not a place for him in the UFC, but it does mean that that place is not in the upper echelon.

It already is. Beyond the top 5-6 guys the overall talent and game really drops off for the most part.

Yeah, but if there were literally only 10 guys in the division then it would be a lot worse. I agree that the talent level drops substantially, but at least there are matchups to be made among guys who are relatively equal in skill.

Also what happens when someone gets dropped out of the top ten? Do you keep him under contract or boot his ass and borrow from the pool according to whoever else moves up?
