I really don't get why Akiyama is still getting top guys. Shouldn't he get a lower level guy? I mean, Alves got to fight John Howard and Abedi. It seems like Akiyama should get a mid-level guy to see exactly where he stands in the division.

Akiyama losing doesn't help Dana achieve an MMA stranglehold over Japan.

You would think they would give him some cans but they are getting low ppv numbers so they have to put the best drawing matches they can. Sexy can win that one IMO. He is pretty good when he shows up in shape. Maybe not the best in the world but capable of beating Thiago.

I think that if Sexy wants to win he needs to pull a Fitch and use his grappling. I'm just not sure if he can get Alves down.

Light-heavyweight champ Jon ‘Bones’ Jones will likely have his next title defence at UFC 149, and the Calgary Sun has also learned that former interim heavyweight champ Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira will face Cheick Kongo at the July 21 event.

Nog/Kongo should be an interesting fight. Nog can win if he can muster up some of that Super Nog Power like he did against Schaub.

I actually like Nog in this fight. Kongo is really tentative and Nog comes out aggressive on the feet. I don't see Kongo wanting to do the Buentello gameplan with Nog, so he will probably want to keep it on the fight where Nog might have the advantage.

                          Nog is going to dominate.

I think it's a close fight just because Nog is shot. Obviously he can still win fights and still has some fight left in him, but his chin is weak as fuck and he's just old. I'm still surprised he beat Couture.

Nog has looked better recently. He dropped Schaub and Mir. How many people was he dropping with punches a few years ago? I think those surgeries may have helped him. That said, he has a ton of mileage. I am rooting for him to beat Kongo. Anything can happen in that one IMO.
