Yeah, I mean for one, it's an interim title fight. That alone, in my opinion, should make it PPV worthy. For another, Faber is always super-exciting and Barao is also fun to watch. I guess I don't know what your objection is to the awesomeness of that fight.

In a time when there's an event on just about every week, I think we can't expect all main events to be Shogun/Hendo. It's a strong fight, I think.

I am glad they have so many events, as long as they are free. There is no way in hell I would pay $55 to watch Faber/Barao. It wasn't the main event 2 days ago, and it still can't carry a card IMO.

I guess for me it would depend on the strength of the card as a whole.

But I guess it just seems that, on principle, any fight between the #1 and #2 contender for a semi-title should be regarded both as main event and PPV worthy. In my opinion, some fights are important regardless even of who the actual fighters are, and this is one of them.

I don't care, I don't pay for them anyways. I just pay for chicken wings and beer when I watch these fights.

He could. Kongo has decent takedown defense thouhg. He also has good stand up and nogs chin is not getting any better. Tough call. I would def call that a candidate for a no bet if i have ever seen one.

baroa/faber is a good fight. The only reason it wouldnt be name worthy is because of baroas name. His skillset is worthy, he just isn't famous. Good fight imo. I think Lombard kills Boetsch. He will be a lot faster.

Me too. Beating Lombard would be a nice "favor" after taking my money in the Okami fight.

I was on Boetsch in that fight, so war Boetsch. But that didn't make up for the horrible night I had. I think UFC 144 and UFC on FX 3 were my worst MMA events this year.

Big Nog out, Shawn Jordan in. If Shawn Jordan is a decent dog, I will be all over it.

What do you guys think about Lombard/Boetsch? Would like to get some insight on this fight before tomorrow afternoon. Watching videos now. The odds will probably be out for this fight tomorrow on bookmaker.

I'm staying away for sure on that one. Lombard is virtually untested against top comp and Boetsch is an overachiever. The only way I'd bet either guy is if he was a decent underdog.

Yeah, if Bookmaker opens the line tomorrow, I doubt we'd get Boetsch at any crazy dog price. If 5d opened it up, Boetsch would be like +335

Alright...after looking at Boetsch/Lombard I think Lombard should probably be a slight(ish) favorite..-165 to -175 or so. I think Lombard will be the better striker, and I think he has the capability to end up on top if Boetsch fails on some takedowns. Boetsch is a strong, tough guy that doesn't stop coming forward, but he is somewhat plodding and his punches come off as a little slow. I think Hector Lombard is pretty damn overrated after watching footage on him. I think this will be an ugly fight. If Lombard wins, I think it will be by decision where he ends up in top position off of Boetsch's takedown attempts or even a takedown of his own and sort of "rides out the clock". However...I can see Boetsch making it ugly and stunning Lombard with some heavy shots and getting takedowns of his own. Lombard might fade late in the fight, combine that with what Joe Rogan calls "octagon jitters", and he might slow down in the fight.

Ok...those are my thoughts on that fight. I think it should be -165 Lombard +125 Boetsch..or something like that. I will take Boetsch if he is +200 or better. I also think this fight will go the distance, and I am sure I will get a nice price on that prop on 5 dimes.

I would definitely be on Boetsch at +200, but I really don't expect to get that.

Boetsch is strong and good wrestler himself, so I'm not sure how well Lombard's judo will work for him here. Lombard is also just fucking short for middleweight and might be better suited for 170.

Then again, Boetsch dropped a round to Nick Ring, so. . .
