Well neither Faber, nor Florian, nor Mendes had any luck getting Aldo down so I do think it's a legit point that he has A+ level takedown defense.

And BJ Penn has legendary takedown defense.

I was mostly being glib; I think it is more likely Aldo tears him up with leg kicks, but don't be surprised to see Frankie put him on his back. Edgar has fantastic technique and timing, and mixes it up far better than most.

Edgar's style doesn't do him any favors against Aldo. Without sitting down on his punches and aiming to hurt his opponent rather than point fight how long is he really going to last with a straight up killer like Aldo? If he can't find a way to totally neutralize Aldo's ability to throw/land those leg kicks he isn't going to be moving around near as well as usual with a leg beat to shit.
