I think he defenetely should. The sooner he commtis to the TD, the sooner he will get aldo to gas, and the less he will have to deal with Aldo's power.
I see it pretty similar to JDS/Cain, the reason why JDS gassed that much was because he had to defend the TDs non stop for the first rounds. Once he was gassed, Cain didn't mind striking with him.

Good point...I hope Frankie does that. Frankie is tough and will probably take some punishment early, but I think he will come back strong and push the pace. It all comes down to Edgar pushing the pace imo...if he tries to do something like UFC 112.....he is gonna lose.

He should be going for tds early, and if he doersnt get them, make it a grinding affair against the cage. He does that, by rd 2 or 3 he will have his way with Aldo.

Mendes was bringing him to the ground, but Aldo held the fence, badly.
I think that if Edgfar want to drag aldo to the ground, he will be able to. My question is if Aldo will be able to pop back up in seconds.

I think Mendes is a better wrestler than Edgar. At least he has better credentials. Edgar has been outwrestled at least once (Maynard I), but he has obviously gotten better, but I think that is because he has been the better striker in those matchups. He isn't a better striker than Aldo. I agree that Edgar will be able to get him down later in the fight and maybe early, but I don't think he will be able to keep it there for very long in the early rounds.

Edgar has taken A LOT of punishment in his two fights with Maynard and Bendo. His body needs to heal and take on an easy fight, not another top P4P fighter.I think Aldo wins easily.
