WSOF president: Paulo Filho won't be returning to the organization

Yeah, the tournament format is basically Bellator's ace in the hole. No one else is really doing that so the promotion is unique in that regard and it legitimizes their titles. From a pure sport perspective you can't get much more legit than a tournament.

I don't know that they need to be worrying about titles RIGHT NOW but once the org has been established after a handful of shows I think it will be important. I mean, people care about who's holding belts in Bellator, at least at the lower weights.

Maybe. Personally, I think the Bellator title is intriguing mostly because there is an established hierarchy with little variance via the tournaments. It's not something I think the UFC should do, but it adds more interest to fighters I normally wouldn't care about.

I don't think these dudes should do titles anyway. Who cares who the WSOF champion is? Just put on interesting fights like Andrei Arlovski vs fucking Rumble Johnson. Have Jon Fitch fight a baboon. I'm so there.

Yeah, I mean he IS Jon Fitch and will undoubtedly walk in as the best welterweight on the roster. But still . . . it's like Edgar or Pettis getting an immediate title shot at FW. They should have to pay SOME kind of dues first. Fitch should have to fight one fight in the organization first just out of respect.

And I'll say this shit, congrats to Burkman for beating Harris and Simpson when he was a big underdog in both fights. I certainly did not expect him to win either fight. But I can't believe that Fitch is going to do anything other than run over him.

Yes and no. He is the highest ranked welterweight. I could def see burkman beating him though. I wish we had proprs for this. Id be all over burkman with points.
